Challenging, fulfilling, friendly and like a ex trended family.
The good thingsThe training standards are set to a very high standard and the team from higher management down to the most freshest face are kind, warm and engaging. Tiger air is like the people’s airline.
The challengesBeing a “young” airline in Australia it came with many challenges. Since the take over if now parent company and their support. These challenges were lessened.

Enjoyed the people and the challenges a small company provides.
The good thingsFlat management structure and everybody knows everybody because of the size. Can do attitude is infectious.
The challengesBeing now under the Virgin Group it would appear they are using the Tigerair staff to facilitate cost cutting.

    Don't live to work.
The good thingsGood staff travel benefits.
The challengesNo work life balance. Work weekends, public holidays, Christmas, New Year with no penalty rates. Monthly Salary. Management very disengaged, dysfunctional and segregated. They do not fly or have a flying background they don't understand the challenges of shift work and customer service with minimal resources. Treated like a child, massive hierarchy of middle management.

Great culture, great perks but not great for career development or salary.
The good thingsGreat culture and working environment, as a small team lots of opportunities to learn and interact with other areas of the business. Terrific travel perks also!
The challengesLow salary, little career development and opportunities though. Even when new jobs do arise, the recruitment process is (often) bias and opportunities aren't readily available to everyone.

Obtaining my wings is the best thing I have ever done ! By far the most exciting and rewarding career I have ever chosen !!
The good thingsThe job itself is quite easy, as long as you're prepared to study throughout ground school. You pretty much get paid to travel :)
The challenges7 day rotating roster where you rarely get weekends off. You may have a Saturday night off, however keep in mind you'll probably be starting at 6am on the Sunday. Your social life will suffer when working for an airline. Fatigue is also a huge challenge. Working a 10 hour shift on board will feel like 20 hours. The main reason for this I believe is that you stay in a cylinder for the whole period. No walking outside for breaks, no fresh air, most days no breaks either (you just eat at the speed of lightening whenever you can). The cabin is number 1 and you must ALWAYS be vigilant of it. It will 100% take a toll on you especially if you're working a 6 day week of minimum rest shifts. Ask ANY flight attendant about fatigue, they will all say the exact same thing. However, if you love aviation, you will push through and look at the positives.

The challengesDifferent types of people that travel, language barrier becomes a challenge but you learn to communicate in a respectful manner.

good pay/benefits, fun working environment, long and hard hours.
The good thingsStaff travel. Best paying cabin crew job in Australia. Fast growing airline so plenty of room for growth within the company.
The challengesBecause it is still growing there is always room for improvement. Work/life balance isn't good. You have to plan your life around your roster which can be stressful as rosters are released monthly one week before. Monthly pay is also a struggle. However these issues are being discussed in new EBA agreement.
