I couldn't ask for a better Traffic Control company to work for.
The good thingsI was new to the traffic control industry and found it extremely hard to get a start until I applied to Traffic Logistics Newcastle Depot. Since then I haven't looked back. I've progressed to being a team leader. The office staff are great couldn't ask for a better group of people to work with.
The challengesThis year I have gone to TAFE doing certificate IV in Work health and safety, part-time. I found when I went to get pwztmp card and when I was new to team leading I found it to be very challenging, but I enjoy a challenge and this career path has been very rewarding.

Traffic Logistic has some of the most experienced and well trained Team leaders.
The good thingsAll staff are professionally, helpful and friendly
The challengesAs with all casual work, starting at a new place, puts you bottom of the list for job allocations. Shifts can sometimes be in short supply.

TL Newcastle is a great company that supports their employees
The good thingsThe overall support the company gives each employee
The challengesSome Team leaders have a higher than thou mentality and do not support their crews, you must rely on upper management for support in some cases.

My work, I enjoy most days and the company of staff members whom work together very well along with the clients, but rostering, the lack of duty of care for there well being and respect to ensure the staff being the face of the company from management and
The good thingsGreat team leaders and good workers. great work
The challengesGetting regular working hours, some weeks your lucky to get a shift, when you get set into a good site and all staff work so well together it feels management go out of there way to swap things around and you end up back in the one shift a week schedule again. Forget asking for a day off for a legitimate reasons as you will get no work following that day. with the way the rosters are run its very hard to make ends meet or put food on the table. They continue to advertise for new staff, forgetting the staff members they have let stay home for a week.

I was there almost 3 years and had a company ute it was good with good hours but then it all went to shut quick and I lost it all with management not backing me on safety decisions on the road
The good thingsWhen you get good hours it's OK but once you say no once thats it

Since the new allocator started alot of things have changed not in a good way. I use to be a good company. They lost alot of team leaders and traffic controllers.
The good thingsA little change in pay
The challengesSome of the management dont know how to speak to the workers and treat you with no respect. You will put in all your hard work & its still not good enough. The new eba isn't that great.

Trying to do your job correctly, without support from Management. You have to spend your own money on Proper PPE and Traffic Control Equipment
The good thingsPlenty of really hard work, but no appreciation, only condemnation if you want a break off work for Family or Illness. They will not spend any money to provide proper Tools of Trade, but expect you to comply with their rules
The challengesTrying to get Management to be helpful and apathetic towards trying to do your job as per their own OH&S and Employee Guidelines. They do not uphold their own rules and regulations

The good thingsTeam leaders will help guid you and be supporting and help you out.
The challengesThe office has issues with communication and when asked for a day off be prepared because you will have more then just a day off you will end up having no work for a couple of weeks.
