Great staff discount structure but operationally convoluted and too detailed. Focus on wrong things. The good thingsHonestly the staff discount is great and not only covers Trek brands, but other third parties as well. From the US the brand and culture goals, targets and values are amazing. But as these have not been, or are being, applied locally the gap is a bigger problem than benefit. The hype lures you in but it's not real!
The challengesOverall the organisation lacks leadership, management support and any real direction. As a means to replace these elements, the organisation has gone completely over the top with metrics (lag indicators) that aren't relevant. Instead of these, I think cultivating true leaders in their stores and allowing them to do what's right by focusing on customers would transform their operation and make it a great place to work.
