    Good company, suitable for part-time/casual work!
    The good thingsThe admin team is efficient, responsive and supportive. The online system is generally easy to use. Clients are cooperative and manageable. Flexible working hours, times and areas. Pay is average - good, depending on your qualifications.
    The challengesSubcontractor role so you are responsible for your own hours, invoices and clients. Sometimes clients require you to travel. Resources are not provided. Managing these things can eat into your time throughout the week if you are not organised. Tutors are paid on a monthly basis.

    Great company to find you tutoring students. they take all the hard work out of managing student payments, new leads etc. recommend.
    The good thingsLovely students to work with. lots of tutoring opportunities. great to be able to offer my online services. TFE are great to deal with. always quick to respond to any queries. well run business
    The challengesThe only thing would be my ability to adapt to each student but as my experience has grown i’ve been able to tailor my tutoring style to each student.

    Friendly, Flexible and Supportive
    The good thingsTutoring For Excellence, as a company, has very clear expectations and communicates clearly with its tutors. The hours are flexible, and it is very easy to contact you if you need support. There are so many jobs available. Tutoring students is such a beneficial experience.
    The challengesLearning how to operate the tutoring portal and run tutoring sessions is a steep learning curve.

    The good thingsBeing a tutor is something I really enjoy, and one of the best things about it is the flexibility it offers in terms of scheduling The admin team at TFE are excellent. They provide support and assistance in connecting me with clients who are a good fit for my skills and expertise. I provide both online and in home tutoring.

    The challengesRidiculously low pay. Absolutely atrocious, essentially on minimum wage as you have to drive to and from students + lesson planning.

    Unless you're retired with a PhD, I wouldn't.
    The good thingsClients were usually lovely, management team seemed nice enough, got given incoming clients
    The challengesLow pay You travel to all students They consistently give students who live much further away than they originally tell you You get paid monthly The first lesson is free so you work for nothing

    Absolutely not worth the effort. Don't work as a tutor with this company.
    The good thingsFlexible hours if you're at university.
    The challengesThe pay is unreasonable when you take into account travel time to and from the client's residence, as well as lesson preparation. Realistically you're actually earning half the hourly rate that is advertised. I spent on average at least 15 minutes (sometimes up to 40 minutes) both ways from a client's house, as well as 15 mins-30 mins preparation for the lesson. Taking into account the cost of petrol and vehicle upkeep as well, the pay is really quite pitiful. Particularly in comparison to what the families pay TFE.
