Unrealistic expectations placed on editorial and design team based largely on the fact that senior management have no idea about editorial timelines or processes, and when issues are constructively communicated, you are met with irritation and unproductive, patronising responses.
Editorial staff are spoken to in a condescending, disrespectful manner despite the fact they are the only reason the company still functions.
Ultimately this is a company controlled by someone who inherited it and should never have been placed in the position to manage a team of employees – especially susceptible young employees who are trying to break into a competitive industry, eager to please and willing to endure mistreatment.
