BEWARE! Toxic. Unethical. Poor management. Unprofessional.
The good thingsAbsolutely nothing good about this company that prides itself on fear mongering its employees.
The challengesManagement operates with a level of arrogance that would be impressive if it weren’t so damaging. Leadership appears stuck in outdated, ego-driven practices, where being right matters more than being effective. When challenged, some leaders resort to unprofessional outbursts rather than demonstrating basic emotional intelligence. The culture rewards narcissistic behaviour and punishes accountability. There is little evidence of genuine leadership, only authority without competence. This consistently leads to poor decision-making, unrealistic expectations, and a workplace environment that feels more hostile than productive. For a company with significant financial resources, the ongoing failure to pay vendors on time is not just concerning, it reflects a lack of integrity and respect for business relationships. This may be an ideal environment for those who value power over people. For anyone expecting professionalism, respect, or actual leadership, it would be best to stay far away.

This business should be avoided for you own mental health.
The good thingsSome great people went through this business, but were unfortunately moved on due to being stifled by the challenges outlined below.
The challengesBusiness decisions are tightly controlled by a small group of long-serving executives, where communication is largely one-way and inconsistent. There is no clearly articulated strategy and, as a result, the business underperforms — which ultimately becomes your responsibility. Do not be misled: United Petroleum operates primarily as a fuel volume business at the detriment of its people.

Terrible organisation with terrible senior management who would disrespect staff at will.
The good thingsUnfortunately there were no good things.
The challengesPaying vendors on time so that they would not refuse to work for this company again.

Backwards 80s business, no innovation, just do what you're told workplace.
The good thingsThere is nothing good to say. They paid a salary, but demand you to work exhausted for it. After hour calls, weekend calls. 9 hour standard office hours.
The challengesNo WFH policy, no performance incentive other than you get to keep your job, no pay review policy, no CPI review, no flexible in work arrangements, strict no alcohol in or around or near business location or hours policy.

The worst experience I’ve ever had
The good thingsA few good people and 2 close cafes to escape
The challengesExtremely toxic culture with no clear structure, systems, or support. Management was often unapproachable, dismissive, or unavailable and employee concerns were largely ignored or met with broken promises that were not followed through. Staff were frequently terminated under questionable circumstances, contributing to high turnover and a climate of fear. Employees were also pressured into situations that felt unethical. Almost everyone was overworked and stressed. The office is located in an isolated area with inconvenient parking some distance away. Overall, this was the most negative work environment and the worst experience I have ever had and I would not recommend anyone work here.

    Biggest mistake I ever made.
The good thingsThe support provided by other colleagues.
The challengesLack of company direction and a general toxic workplace lead from the owner down. Expected to be on call 24/7 for which the salary doesn’t reflect that. Certain individuals who are buddies with the owner and think they are beyond everyone. Change of procedures multiple times and lack of reporting lines. Company is operating a model that doesn’t work and essentially the commission agents are buying themselves a job and the owner is the only one who wins.

Toxic environment, don’t work here if you have any sense of morals or values.
The good thingsThere are some great people in the business who could do great things if they were allowed to perform their jobs.
The challengesThe owners and CEO are among the most unethical people I’ve come across. They are supported a few key people who are too scared to stand up to them or enjoy being associated with the super wealthy. It’s toxic. How they haven’t made the front page with some of their practices, I will never know.

Served its purpose, but never again. Would not recommend anyone joining this two bit organisation.
The good thingsNot much good other than flexibility
The challengesThe term 'the fish stinks from the head' rings true. Swearing and yelling very much the norm. Directors + CEO encourages poor behaviour and subpar performance. Not training, no guidance. When things go well, its on them. When things go sour, its on you. A lot of dissatisfied customers as a result of poor management decisions. Hiring of GM level executives have been extremely poor.

A truely terrible culture led from the top. The directors make phone calls that are threatening, full of swearing and extremely unprofessional. Simply put, the most unethical company I have ever been associated with.
The good thingsThere are a few good people within the company however the top is rotten and very unethical.
The challengesThe way they treat their staff and vendors is extremely unethical. Asking their employees to treat people and vendors unfairly to save money

Honestly, if you don't mind working in stress and doing more than your "job descriptions", United will be your go to.
The good thingsThe people working there are great to be honest. Nice, Friendly and Supportive. Nice restaurants along the street (yes)
The challengesThe management (specifically the director) has no direction at all (Honestly). High Staff Turnover and Very Slow Transition Process. When someone left the company, instead of hiring someone new to take over the position, the management just spilt the tasks over the multiple people. You ended up doing more than your position. New faces around the company each month and really, the approval process just takes forever.
