    Health and Safety Adviser

Average pay, fuel card being a good benefit. Toxic work culture.
The good thingsFuel Card and reasonable working arrangements.
The challengesThere is a senior safety advisor who has been with the company for over a decade. She’s fantastic at what she does however the HSE Manager strives to train the rest of the staff to work exactly how the senior member does. HSE advisors often bring a unique style of safety to each company but that doesn’t seem to register. I was told several times not to work the way I do and to mimic the senior advisors way. A lot of double handling and roundabout ways of doing things that take longer than they should. The company is too top heavy with leadership roles.

Human ResourcesYou're right - forcing everyone to work exactly like one person, even an excellent person, stifles professional expertise. That's poor management of a safety function. We should be leveraging different approaches, not creating clones. Your feedback about the top heavy structure is noted by senior leadership. Thank you for the honest assessment, and we're sorry we lost you after less than a year.

The pay is average as per industry standards - the worst bit, the office culture was quite toxic.

A pleasure to come to work, despite the project uncertainties due the facility going into administration.
The good thingsThe culture and team on site. Ability to have influence and drive positive change.
The challengesLike any large corporation, some inefficiencies & overcomplicated processes in the wider business.

Human ResourcesThank you for the 5 stars during what must be an incredibly stressful time. Maintaining positive culture while your facility faces administration is a testament to you and your team's leadership. Your point about overcomplicated corporate processes is fair - we know we can be bureaucratic. What specific processes create the most friction for your operations? We'd genuinely like to know. Thanks for staying positive when many wouldn't.

The good thingsWork at a lot of different sites. Good stepping stone into a better career.
The challengesManagement has no regard for their employees. Only Care about pleasing the client. No Work/Life balance. Work insane hours to make average money.
