Good for starting, not long term.
The good thingsFree snacks and teas in the dining area, most of staff are friendly
The challengesEach lab operates separately, not really any management or planning ahead. No career development due to flat organizational structure.

Glad to be out and remunerated fairly.
The good thingsThe only good thing I can say about this company is the onsite cafeteria. And, the free breakfast.
The challengesManagement is poor and expect a lot without giving much in guidance/direction. If you enjoy a lot of autonomy than the position is for you, but unless you take the initiative to find out what’s going on then you won’t know. There is a very big division between management and other staff. If you are looking to being remunerated according to experience and skills then don’t work here. Or, compare what they are offering to industry averages before you accept a role there.

Self-motivated people will flourish here; those who need structure will hate it.
The good thingsFantastic autonomy. Project vary enormously in scope and discipline. Self-motivated employees who can dream up a business plan are given a long leash. Not many mid-sized companies provide such end-to-end access to the whole project process.
The challengesThe biggest strength is also the biggest weakness. Those employees who need rigid structure, or to be told what to do, find it overwhelming and don't last long.
