My experience so far has been overall pleasant, consistent and exciting.
The good thingsI love coming into work. Everyone is friendly and supportive, and I find that even those at the highest level in the business are approachable.
The challengesLike every organisation, there are challenges. However, despite challenges, Wave always seems to recover and grow, probably because of the calibre of people that are hired.

    Avoid.
The good thingsExtremely helpful and nice co-workers if they are not redundant yet.
The challengesPoor higher management, unable to even secure existing projects. Whether you are a casual or full-time employee, it doesn't matter; people loose their jobs in large numbers whenever the company wants. Such attitude contradicts even their culture policy when they state: "We leave no one behind".

Drafting resources in mining industry are generally not as good as other industries. Hopefully this place can attract more quality drafting resources to make projects delivery more efficient.
The good thingsInteresting projects. A good place to get good experience on major projects and make CV look good.
The challengesThe mechanical drafting resources are not performing as well as other places I have worked for, except one guru located remotely from the office. Low quality design and drafting makes design review cumbersome.

Could have been a good place to work for if mid level managers put more efforts on people and projects instead of playing politics.
The good thingsPay is slightly above average. The business is growing quickly and keeps securing good projects.
The challengesTurnover rate is way too high. Mid-level managers do not seem to have the competencies required. The environment is a bit toxic. Hopefully the higher management can get feedback from employees directly to cleanse the toxic environment.

Darkest time of my career. All other companies I've worked for seem to have much better management system.
The good thingsNice location, experienced engineers and higher management working hard to secure projects.
The challengesSelf motivation is discouraged. Learning is not supported. Micromanagement significantly reduces the team's productivity. Mid level management should care more about the people and projects.

Avoid this company if you have a choice.
The good thingsSome engineers and designers are experienced and knowledgeable.
The challengesSome managers do not encourage staff to learn. No recognition and promotion. The environment is toxic. Blaming games all the time. A few manager has no people skills at all.

Would suit a highly experienced engineering professional with extensive site experience looking to cash in on that, otherwise offers no development or career prospects.
The good thingsDiverse projects, high tier clients
The challengesNo career prospects or progression, highly compartmentalised, poor management.
