A one-sided relationship. The good thingsI've enjoyed the impact that you make on customers. Being able to help those in need with something impactful, and then hearing from those customers about how much they appreciate your work is what kept me going.
The challengesThe level of care and reciprocity from Westpac to their employees. No matter what you do, even if you become nationally recognised, Westpac will only ever see you as a number. I received high praise for my work within Westpac, as my superiors received written letters from customers which received national recognition, but despite that, when the time came to discuss the renewal of my contract my previous efforts were not sufficient. What extra you do within Westpac, even though you may be told is appreciated, does not actually mean a long and successful career with them.
