An enjoyable challenge with the opportunity to make a difference
The good thingsAlways something new to learn and given a lot of responsibility and diversity. There are some lovely people
The challengesMore work than one person can handle in a reasonable time frame. No (monetary) recognition for over performance.

Was fast paced, under resourced yet rewarding to achieve for the brand under difficult circumstances.
The good thingsThe people that work in the group are outstanding hard workers.
The challengesInsufficient resources to support the management teams do their job.

    Disappointing
The good thingsThe role and the brokers
The challengesLeadership team, or lack of. No care factor for the business, only for themselves. Little to no support or guidance. Never any budget available to do your job or to improve things for our clients.

No direction, no leadership, no culture.
The good thingsSome good friends and colleagues.
The challengesManagement or the lack thereof. No direction. No culture. A revolving door with people who have left.

    Broker

If you are an experienced and established broker with personality it is reasonable choice, but you must follow the YBR way.
The good thingsYou are your own boss, so you choose how much you want to do and get the reward you work for.
The challengesHead office is all about the sales, and not so much the support. As a 'green' broker I was over promised and under delivered to to sign me up. Others were more successful.

Brokers are given commission only but expected to be an employee with no entitlements what so ever, head office know but turn a blind eye.
The good thingsI can honestly not think of one.
The challengesPromise the world deliver nothing Poor head office systems, outdated payment of commissions, head office blame the franchise, the franchise blame head office.

Good work/life balance but that's about it
The good thingsGood work life balance-started at 8:30 and finished at 5. Never had to stay back.
The challengesI don't believe women are treated with the same respect as men. Management tend to promote males but not females and avoid hiring females. They didn't have a proper review system so I never got a pay rise or knew how I was tracking work wise. Management was not approachable which made the business suffer as a result.

    Assistant Accountant
    Oct 2015
1 to 2 years in the role, former employee
Great exposure. Poor benefits and management.
The good thingsGreat exposure and experience. A good place to start to get your foot in the door. The experience you receive in a year will be more than anywhere you get in a bigger company.
The challengesLong hours and poor work life balance. Poor communication from management which makes it hard for you to get your work done. The company doesn't offer great employee benefits because its still in its growth phase of the business.
