Why study this course

This program aims to provide students with an excellent basic knowledge in modern biotechnology, including molecular biology, molecular genetics and microbiology, as well as a range of experiences in research methods, data analysis, instrumentation, information technology, bioethics and law, as they apply to the biotechnology industry. Biotechnology harnesses the natural biochemical and genetic processes of living organisms for our own use. Currently, it has applications in genetic engineering, human health, pharmaceuticals, plant and animal agriculture, food production, fuels and waste management.

I do not believe that this degree equips you with the skills that are translatable to a career. Moreover unless you pursue postgraduate coursework / research subsequent to this degree your option for career progression is severely limited. Theoretical content is fine but again what does that mean if you have no job at the end.
