In comparison to my colleagues who studied at other universities, I believe Griffith had an excellent simulated practical component in the degree. This prepared me exceptionally well for my practical placements.

I enjoyed my time at Griffith and feel like my placements equipped me with the skills I needed to go into the workforce.

Too many students and not enough jobs. Once you’ve graduated, they don’t help you. Practicum at the very end of the year was interstate. You can’t work for 12 weeks and have to pay for flights and accomodation during this time. Would be more helpful to combine more practical work throughout the whole degree to gain more experience.

Most of the practical was at the very end of the course. A lot of the early units were not relevant. Career prospects after graduating are not good.
Response from Griffith University
Thank you for your feedback. In an undergraduate degree, first year is foundational and you will explore core concepts and build a solid base for your knowledge. Second and third years are generally where you begin to put that knowledge into practice. We are sorry to hear you did not have a good experience. We are constantly reviewing our degree structures, to ensure students gain the right mix practical skills and knowledge to prepare them for their future careers.

The course is good as a stepping stone to another degree but does not qualify the student for any jobs. Interesting and engaging content and is overall an enjoyable degree with helpful teachers.

The course was really good and I had a great experience. They only have a small intake each year meaning smaller classes and more one-on-one time which is valuable in a practical based degree. The sessionals that run workshops have a wealth of experience and are always happy to share their knowledge. Overall it was a fantastic course.

I am currently in first year and the amount of hands on work we do is amazing. I feel very prepared for when I go on my first practical.

Good lecturers, had the opportunity to do a placement overseas and learned a lot. Unfortunately another placement was not good and struggled to get specialty hours.
