Student review
I found the Diploma at Melbourne Polytechnic great for students who wish to enter the production side of the film and television industry. With lots of practical work, including how to use equipment, the course introduced me to many new elements of video creation. There was a great amount of equipment for us to work with, including: lighting for all environments, sound and microphones, HD cameras, computers and hard-drives, and props - all available to rent while attending MP. Unfortunately, the program lacked in theory-based exercises - which now after working in the industry, is a strong part of the job. After graduating from Melbourne Polytechnic, I was able to find and apply for industry jobs on my own. However, I had hoped that there would've been more support and guidance from the teachers and the school.
