Looking to earn more money? There's been a 4.4% rise in salaries over the past year, according to SEEK's Advertised Salary Index for February, and there continue to be many job opportunities on SEEK for workers across Australia.

And with salary being one of the main reasons to stay in a job or move into a new one, it could be a good time to review what you’re being paid.

But salary can also be difficult to talk about. One of the hardest things is knowing where to pitch yourself – go too low and you could be underselling yourself; pitch too high and you could be overlooked.

When it comes to your salary range, there are so many factors that can impact how much money you should be asking for. How long you’ve worked in the industry, your qualifications, your achievements, where you live, the demand for your skills, the company hiring and industry trends can all play a part.

Explore salaries to get a feel for what roles typically pay.

You can also use SEEK’s salary filter to search for jobs by salary, even if an employer chooses not to show the salary range on the job ad. It will help you save time and energy by finding and applying for jobs that are the right fit for you.

AU Source: The SEEK Advertised Salary Index (ASI) measures the growth in advertised salaries for jobs posted on SEEK in Australia. Data up to the month of February 2024.
