How to become a Financial Analyst

You usually need a relevant bachelor degree to work as a Financial Analyst. Many employers prefer candidates with a Chartered Accountant (CA) or Certified Practising Accountant (CPA) qualification.

  1. Complete a bachelor degree in finance, accounting, economics, business administration, commerce or a related field. This usually takes three years of full-time study.
  2. Seek an internship while studying to apply your skills under the guidance of experienced Financial Analysts.
  3. To improve your employability, consider undertaking a Chartered Accountant (CA) or Certified Practising Accountant (CPA) qualification. Alternatively, a postgraduate degree such as a Master of Business Administration may provide similar career benefits.
