Over five years at 7-Eleven, I’ve grown from an overnight team member to a Store Manager by embracing challenges, staying committed, and being part of a diverse, supportive team. The good thingsI started at 7-Eleven as an overnight team member and, over five years, worked my way up to Store Leader. The company offers real opportunities for growth if you’re motivated and committed. The workplace is very diverse, and I’ve always felt part of a supportive team. One of the biggest positives is the leadership—my senior leaders have always had my back, even stepping in to help with small things like cleaning cobwebs. That kind of hands-on support makes a big difference.
The challengesLike most retail jobs, there are challenges—mainly staff turnover and tight labor hour budgets. These can be difficult, but I’ve learned it really comes down to the attitude you bring. If you stay focused, adaptable, and lead by example, you can manage through anything. There’s always help available if you ask for it.
