    Our mission statement

RMIT’s strategy to 2031 refines a vision and mission that has been part of our DNA since 1887.We continue to consider our greatest achievement the graduation of genuinely global citizens, ready to drive impact and differentiate ourselves through the way we use our teaching and research assets, and our networks, to contribute to the communities we serve. This new strategy focuses on using our knowledge, skills and capabilities to make a difference in the world – that's why we called it Knowledge with Action. It is a clear, direct statement of intent – to convey our positive ambition and the way it applies equally to the many different, and distinctly important, threads of RMIT.

Supportive environment where people take pride in their work
The good thingsAn incredibly supportive team where the vast majority of people genuinely seem to care about the quality of work they produce and helping each other grow their skills. Good work life balance, a nice office in the city, and plenty of opportunity to work from home. Directors and managers seem to genuinely care about people and advocate on their behalf. Some excellent tools for the newly established Data Analytics Platform and team members are striving to maintain scalable best-practices. Focussed work that seems to be well-planned and having positive impacts across the university for staff and students.
The challengesQuite a flat structure, so not a lot of opportunity to progress. Disappointing treatment of staff from exec level during EBA negotiations

Toxic Technology Business Team & Culture
The good thingsWork Life Balance. Convenient location. Accessible buildings.
The challengesToxic tech business unit where leaders shield underperforming program directors, avoid accountability, and hide delays with misleading go-live details. External contractors are blamed for raising valid concerns, while end users are ignored in favor of saving face. Dirty Politics
