What’s it like working at Halliburton?

    AI summary of recent reviews

Halliburton employees consistently praise the quality of their colleagues and the strong teamwork environment, which often leads to lasting friendships. The company's commitment to safety protocols is well-regarded, with clear processes in place. Employees also value the training and development opportunities, particularly during their initial employment period, and many note competitive compensation packages, especially for those in leadership positions.

However, employees face certain challenges, including maintaining work-life balance due to long hours and high expectations, particularly for those in supervisory roles. There are concerns about management communication and decision-making processes, while some employees note that workload distribution and staffing levels could be improved. The nature of the oil and gas industry means that job security can be influenced by market conditions.

You will literally work hard, burnt out and get no recognition especially in Jandakot base.
The good thingsPlace is clean and that was about it. There was nothing to enjoy about the workplace, sapped my mentality after a few weeks
The challengesWorking people to the grave with minimal staff to maximise profits. Management are clueless and think that senior experienced guys will accept slaving away constantly. They make out like they are doing you a favour by hiring you and start talking about a crazy amount of days in the field or at the base, it’s like you aren’t allowed days off anymore. There is zero life/work balance, it only took me a month to suss the place out and realise they wasn’t going to be flexible or care about personnel. The whole work force was depressed and burnt out unless you were in the little office clan.

Very upsetting and disappointing and leaving me without work all of a sudden.
The good thingsAlot to learn in the mining industry
The challengesThe company promised me ongoing work leading into 2026 and than hit January and made me redundant and I left stable work on this promise.

Used to be a good place to work. Work hard and you’ll be rewarded… not the case these days.
The good thingsThe best people to work with.
The challengesThese days is who you know not what you know. I saw low base employees escalating to management by just playing the game, don’t bother to look after the company’s or others values, just keep you boss happy and you’ll be rewarded.
