Utterly and completely mentally/emotionally draining. The good thingsThe pay is competitive with other retailers and grocers but still doesn't justify the work and benchmarks they set.
The challengesThey expect 2 people to run an entire grocery store alone for 3-4 hours with each closing/opening task to be done exceeding standards. If this isnt achieved, they send messages threatening with "20 people have been terminated in the last 2 months".
Since i started, we have had 3 different store managers, 3 different AREA Managers, and i have seen 10+ people come and go immediately, mainly due to the fact ALDI expects 1 person to do what it takes 3-4 Coles employees to do, AND in a shorter amount of time. The benchmarks are only rising, making them ridiculously unachievable, and the timeframes are only getting shorter. At Ingle Farm we constantly receive complaints from customers regarding the managers (people who are supposed to represent us as a team and set an example). ALDI are ridiculously inconsiderate of staff, the higher management have absolutely no clue how to treat staff and set achievable benchmarks since 90% of them have never worked in store.
