The company needs to uplift its culture to retain talent and catch up with its peers.
The good thingsGreat colleagues to work with, awesome offices around the country.
The challengesThe higher you get, the more you have to watch your back. The Great Culture Company once had, but has been gradually deteriorating.

Do not be deceived with the bells & whistles.
The good thingsOffice is centrally located with nice cafes and lunch bar. Close to major transport hubs (bus and train). Office is clean and quiet.
The challengesWFH was in contract but was not endorsed by department manager/s. There was a crazy intense pressure to Over deliver, literally squeezed your blood sweat and tears. Never got compensated for additional hours (it is not unusual to do 14-16 hour days). I was always very sceptic of their half and yearly performance review; there was a section about personal career development goals and there seems to be an expectation to align your career goals to the company's values. It almost is screaming that management is not interested in how you want to develop your skills. Training/guidance was also poorly implemented - 80% of the time you are left to your own devices to learn your own tasks. For an organization that is of this scale it lacks leadership and mentoring. There is a clear demarcation between workers, managers/leaders and senior managers.

Best decision I ever made in my life was applying for a job with this company.
The good thingsIn a 35 year working life this is hands down one of the best companies I have ever worked for. Employee feed back and suggestions are actively sought and followed up by management, senior exec team hold quarterly Townhalls to update all staff on what the company is doing and actively engage with us during Q&A sessions, there is great support from management and the company looks after us very well including being flexible when you have an emergency, or just need some head space. Big on personal / career development, work life balance and supporting mental health.
The challengesIf you love finding a solution for customers this is one of the best roles you can have. But sometimes having to deal with angry, upset people can be a challenge (however there is lots of support to help you through)

Alinta Energy overall is a great place to work based on my first 6 weeks and the staff friendliness and relatively quick set up of IT equipment and systems etc has been very good.
The good thingsStaff are friendly and helpful. New Starter portal is very good. The snacks provided in the lunchroom are excellent. Flexible working arrangements are appreciated. New employee set up has been pretty quick and easy really. Great office location.
The challengesGetting to know who's who in the business which is normal. Some IT fulfilment has been slower than expected. The amount of compliance training which is normal.

Excellent for advancing both personally and professionally.
The good thingsWorking at Alinta Energy has been a rewarding experience. The company offers numerous opportunities for both personal and professional growth. The supportive and collaborative work environment fosters innovation and encourages employees to bring their best selves to work every day. One of the highlights of working at Alinta Energy is the company’s commitment to employee development. They provide ample learning opportunities and encourage employees to take on new challenges, which has greatly contributed to my professional growth.
The challengesLike any workplace, Alinta Energy also presents its own set of challenges. The fast-paced nature of the energy industry means that the work can sometimes be demanding and requires one to be adaptable. There can be high expectations, but it’s fulfilling to see the results of your hard work. Despite these challenges, I believe that the benefits of working at Alinta Energy far outweigh the difficulties.

A dynamic company with a big future and one i'm excited to be a part of going forward.
The good thingsThe company actively supports its staff in developing themselves, providing funding and training where required. The company works to build teams and inclusion and encourages that one team thinking which is great. The site and office facilities are excellent and the company leads rather than follows.
The challengesThe knowledge systems in place for my discipline are lacking in certain areas compared to my previous work experience. But at the same time this provides for opportunities to improve what exists and take on board industry best practices.

Great company - Work-Life balance, Personal & Professional Development, Benefits
The good thingsI am from the Philippines, and my first time working abroad. I was initially very afraid, but then I was very glad I chose the right company to work with. The work-life balance is really good; I usually work at the office three days a week and work from home for the remaining two, but you can choose what you prefer. The benefits are also really good; my most appreciated one is the subscription to Headspace because I enjoy meditating a lot. It helps me have a good night's sleep. Also, I'm on a great team; they are very helpful and nice. The work environment is pleasant as well, and the kitchen is nice. I feel excited to go to the office every day. As for learning, I'm working on a Hydro project, and the team is very helpful. Alinta provides access to LinkedIn Learning, which I usually use to improve my knowledge.

The good thingsThe culture. They trust in your skill sets, and allow you to do your job, and are available if you require assistance
The challengesThe usual, it's not Alinta specific, hybrid has the challenge of getting to meet everyone face to face.

Excited finally to be apart of a company who actually cares for its employees :)
The good thingsAll the on-boarding was extremely easy and if any questions i needed answered were answered pretty much straight away and everyone is extremely helpful and anytime you get stuck there is someone to help you out. You actually get treated with the respect and get the recognition you deserve. Honoured to be excepted into this role.
The challengesOnly thing i honestly found difficult was all the sit down training you have to do but that is expected, and getting access to certain company things took a while other than that everything was extremely easy and simple.
