Avoid unless you enjoy chasing money as a healthcare professional.
The good thingsTeam was mostly friendly and supportive. The role itself was inherently very flexible and consultants enjoyed a lot of autonomy. A diverse portfolio of occupational rehabilitation services on offer to keep things interesting. Bonus incentives from exceeding quarterly targets were generous at the beginning (but this was taken away from consultants as one of the many cost cutting initiatives from upper management).
The challengesExtremely money and billable focused and incredibly high caseloads. Some people in upper management with little understanding of the consultant role placing tremendous pressure on everyone below them, all in the pursuit of more money to acquire new businesses and feed the corporate healthcare behemoth that is APM. Very little regard for consultant welfare and happiness - anything offered was usually a reactive token gesture when things were starting to fall apart.
