What’s it like working at Army & Air Force Canteen Service?

    AI summary of recent reviews

Employees at Army & Air Force Canteen Service appreciate the respectful and polite customers, particularly defence personnel, and enjoy working with friendly and supportive colleagues. The flexible hours and weekends off make the role suitable for parents seeking work/life balance, and many value the opportunity to work on military bases and give back to the defence forces.

However, there are some potential challenges, including management and head office communication that could be more consistent and supportive, staffing levels that can be stretched during busy periods, instances of unpaid overtime and long shifts without breaks, frequent organisational changes that are not always followed through, and limited opportunities for promotion and long-term employment security.

Upper management is terrible and I wouldn’t recommend anyone work here.
The good thingsEasy work some days and weekends off
The challengesWorked a lot of unpaid overtime, upper management is terrible and extremely impersonal and unprofessional. Always have something to criticise, have seen a head office person grab someone to move them and make fun of younger employees. The managers of the shops are treated awfully.
