Aurelia Metals offers strong leaders, good people, and exciting long-term opportunities.
The good thingsStrong executive leadership, a welcoming culture, and a business with an exciting future. Aurelia is in a very interesting phase as it continues to position itself as a polymetallic, multi-mine operation across gold, copper, lead and zinc. That creates real energy in the business and makes it a rewarding place to work, learn and grow. I also valued the opportunity to work with capable leaders and committed people across the organisation.
The challengesLike many businesses going through growth and transition, the journey can at times be demanding and requires resilience, adaptability and a shared focus on the longer-term vision. There are periods where a lot is being built at once, but that comes with being part of a company working toward an exciting next phase.

Great company with awesome support network and learning opportunities
The good thingsAwesome close-knit team with heaps of support and a great work culture. Plenty of hands-on experience and learning opportunities for people new to the mining industry. Only have positive things to say and would recommend Aurelia to anyone else keen on getting their foot in the door :)

    DO NOT WORK HERE!!!!!
The good thingsNothing good to say about this rat hole.
The challengesWorking at Aurelia Metals was one of the most frustrating experiences I’ve had. The organisation feels chaotic, poorly structured, and completely lacking in clear direction. The systems and processes are awful. So much of the work relies on clunky, outdated, manual processes that slow everything down and create constant inefficiencies. Instead of investing in better tools or streamlining anything, you end up wasting hours on tasks that should take minutes. On top of that, the turnover—especially in the finance department—is noticeably high. It’s hard to build any stability or momentum when people are constantly leaving, and it adds even more pressure to the few who remain. Between the poor processes, lack of support, heavy workloads, and constant churn, the environment becomes exhausting and demoralising. I wouldn’t recommend working here to anyone who values structure, efficiency, or career development.

    Don't work at this circus
The good thingsThe road out of the place
The challengesI've never been so depressed in all my life working at this place. Shocking management team and dog eat dog culture. Don't dare have an opinion or speak up because the managers will gang up on you and push you out.

Exciting Growth, Strong Support, Real Opportunities, Good Pay
The good thingsAn exciting company with plenty of growth opportunities! One new mine has already started, and another is not far off. The flight times from Brisbane are excellent, especially with the new charter. Pay is competitive, and the development opportunities are genuine.
The challengesAs a new operation, some systems are still in their infancy, but there’s plenty of opportunity—and strong support from management—to shape them the way you like.

Would happily work there again with one personnel change.
The good thingsFirst 2 years were great...good camp, good people. Plenty of challenges and improvements to be made.
The challengesGood small sites are only ever one bad recruitment away from being a terrible place, and that is what happened with the new processing manager.

Dynamic and fast paced organisation determined to succeed through planning and execution.
The good thingsA dynamic Company with a new management team that knows what good looks like and genuinely cares about its employees. It has sought feedback from employees on barriers to performance and as a result has made a lot of improvements and we are now seeing step change in all facets of the business. Is developing a robust and realistic strategy, vison, values and plans. The Company has really good near mine exploration prospects and I have know doubts will be the next mid-tier mining Company reflected in their most recent acquisition of Dargues.
The challengesContractor management as have UG mining contractor. As many of their ore bodies are polymetalic UG ore bodies there is variability in production. There are so many opportunities for improvement they will need to prioritize actions based on best return.

    Shambles.
The good thingsSmall company means you're an individual. Plenty of people leave making room for career advancement.
The challengesManagement fails to understand what is needed or listens, and doesn't pass on challenges to the Board. Make-Do / She'll-Be-Right attitude. TOO many other challenges to list.

Interesting plant but management needs to improve
The good thingsGreat plant to learn from as it is unconventional and it's a true blue metallurgist plant.
The challengesGlencore micromanaging the whole place; the stress trickles from the management downwards and it is gravely felt. Plant performance has improved from 2016 onwards but you'll feel unappreciated with all your efforts that you've put in. Even if you hit targets after targets, all people see are the negatives. Workers used to have a good rapport but it has declined these past few months.
