Organisation StructureThe ACO employs around 160 full-time, part-time and sessional staff across six worksites in metropolitan Melbourne. There are four internal divisions focusing on different aspects of our business:Clinical Services DivisionProvides low-cost eye care services to disadvantaged people, in 6 clinics throughout metropolitan Melbourne, as well as through the Victorian Eyecare Service which services rural and regional areas of the state. Clinical Services also assists with the training of optometry students, in affiliation with several Australian tertiary institutions.Professional Development DivisionIncorporates membership - around 660 optometrists in Victoria and interstate; continuing education/ professional development; the Nathan Library – which has an excellent collection in vision science, optics and optometry; and the Cyril W Kett Optometry Archive & Museum which holds an archive collection of documents, spectacles and ophthalmic instruments, documenting the history of optometry.Source: This is an extract from the company's own website.
