We’re Lifeblood. Let’s skip small talk.We turn life-giving donations into life-changing outcomes. Blood, plasma, platelets, breast milk, and even poo. Donors from across Australia give part of themselves, for the people across Australia who need them. For the mum with breast cancer. The wounded police officer. The six-year-old with leukaemia. Their lives have been our purpose for nearly 100 years. And we keep researching. Improving. Collaborating. Leading the way in this country and around the world. We’re building a movement of donors and a workforce of champions. Pursuing life-giving possibilities together and united by one reason: life is the reason.

A place for mediocre yes please
The good thingsIf you get to interact with donors they are lovely, but which makes it even funnier when head office people act like they’re doing donors a favour by leaving their houses
The challengesSix months of ongoing restructures and redundancies and still no plan. Great people exited and changes handled shockingly. The recent incident in Sydney laid bare that leadership have no idea and cannot see outside Melbourne. Frontline and anyone interacting with a donor face growing pressure while the increasingly bloated head office congratulate themselves in never ending useless meetings. We operate blindly based on made up numbers with no plan to achieve them, increasingly wedded to power hungry leaders unaware of the basics of how the restructured departments operate. This is driven from a floundering exec who is struggling and relying on a growing band of yes people and those too scared to speak up to justify her behaviour. Donors and donor safety are no longer a concern as frontline teams are under increasing pressure no one in head office is exposed to, and they seem more concerned with spouting buzzwords, and winning meaningless awards than collections or performance.
