Most people in Support Office do enough to maintain their job and that's where it ends. Very poor communication, minimal accountability. A lot work from home and are probably taking advantage of the business because of this. The business needs more people that are passionate about improving it.
If you are going to involve yourself with them, buy into a franchise, that way you run things your way.The good thingsStaff discount and some team members are ok.
The challengesNot much support from Support Office.
Leadership team usually over promise and under deliver, much like a car salesperson. They are really good at sending lots of emails and doing power point presentations illustrating grand ideas that never come to bear, and that's where it ends.
Various departments have staff that don't care, are rarely of assistance, and barely communicate unless they need something from you. They also like to make you comply with ideas of theirs even if the ideas are bad.
A decent Area Manager is rare, seem to replace those roles like underwear.
The business is very outdated with some of its practices, which will continue to be a problem and limit their growth in the future. Their store parts management program is ok, but using books is probably quicker and less painful.
Long term employees are stuck in their ways, and keep thinking that what worked 15 years ago will work today. Salary offerings for Managment are good, but wage offerings for any position below are not appealing and very uncompetitive. High staff turnover in the business, they struggle to keep good people due to neglect. Some in the support office are aware of this, but don't often do anything about it, and then get annoyed when they have to keep re-hiring and can't expand the business.
