    AI summary of recent reviews

Employees at BGC Transport appreciate the earning potential, particularly due to the availability of overtime hours, as well as the flexible scheduling and laid-back work environment.

However, there are potential challenges, such as concerns about work/life balance due to expectations of unreasonable overtime, communication issues with schedulers, supervisors, and management, poorly maintained equipment and unsatisfactory repair timeframes, a perceived lack of engagement from management in addressing employee concerns, and suggestions that safety standards could be improved to meet current best practices.

Stay clear, the right hand doesn't know what the other is doing,
The good thingsGood money but only because you're forced to do unreasonable overtime.
The challengesCommunication with the schedulers and supervisors. When you drop something at the workshop to be patched up you have to find a lift back to the yard!

    Badly run part of BGC.
The good thingsPlenty of hours available if no wok/life balance is required. Scheduler is very flexible and accomodating.
The challengesOld, poorly maintained gear. Brick cartage is treated as an afterthought by senior transport management who are only interested in the tipper fleet and have no interest in carter’s concerns. Management awol unless they require something. Communication is non existent. Safety is all but lip service. Brick carting runs on the good will of the drivers and scheduler. No reward for productivity. Pay rate is pretty poor encouraging drivers to work very long hours.
