Breast Cancer Network Australia (BCNA) works to ensure that Australians affected by breast cancer receive the very best support, information, treatment and care appropriate to their individual needs.BCNA is the peak national organisation for Australians affected by breast cancer, and consists of a network of more than 110,000 members and 300 Member Groups. The good thingsFor the most part, the other people working there have a shared passion for improving the lives of women with breast cancer. This can be very inspiring.

The challengesNo career progression opportunities at all. This leads to transient staff movement. Leadership not great.

The good thingsHelping to raise money to cure breast cancer. Feeling like I was helping people just by listening to their experiences. Speaking with a wide range of people and raising awareness of what is being with research. Flexibility with hours. Working in varied locations.

The challengesBeing able to create rapport with a wide variety of people so they would make donations or purchase merchandise.
