Repeated ongoing attempts by Brisbane Markets Ltd to remove this review suggest that the truth is highly uncomfortable for them. The good thingsThe facilities are reasonable, and the staff and middle management are passionate, dedicated, and supportive. They paid me very well but no amount of money would make me stay there... They are highly skilled at managing their public image—bordering on propaganda—which is likely why they are so determined to suppress honest feedback (such as this review).
Employees' tenure at the company varies greatly, with some staying for less than a year while others remain for decade after decade. This suggests a distinct divide in the work experience, where individuals either robotically align with the company's culture, behaviours and practices or they do not.

The challengesI feel I have a duty to share the truth about my disappointing experiences and opinions I formed working at Brisbane Markets Limited. The executive management behaviours are outdated, dysfunctional, and toxic. The company's claims of being an employer of choice are misleading and unfounded. There is no flexibility in working hours, no work-from-home options, and a lack of trust and respect from executive management. The executive team shows scant regard for employee wellbeing, and the turnover rate is extremely high. The management structure rewards mediocrity and punishes independent thought and initiative.
Executive leaders are biased, play favourites, and drive away genuine talent. I feel compelled to share these opinions because potential employees to any company should exercise extreme caution and thoroughly research any company culture before joining.
In my opinion there is... 1) Deceptive executive management practices such as Notice periods being increased in the footer of an annual salary increase review (which most people didn't see in the fine print) or being asked to sign off on a policy which had not even been written. 2) Lack of trust and respect: Executive management reads employees' emails and opens their mail, demonstrating a complete disregard for privacy. Monitoring employees on CCTV. 3) Favouritism and bias. 4) Poor communication: Executive management takes time to ‘sanitise’ employee concerns before providing feedback. 5) Outdated processes and a refusal to adapt or innovate 6) Deceptive hiring practices such as recruitment marketing: 7) Claims that a number of poor Company Reviews posted by former and current employees on sites (such as this) are not actually from former employees of Brisbane Markets Limited. Brisbane Markets claim the poor reviews were employees of tenants who rented from Brisbane Markets. This is not the case. 8) Expectations of completing tasks without experience or training, and a "figure it out" attitude. and 10) No work-life balance: No flexible start or finish times, no work-from-home options, and an expectation to work late hours, particularly at senior levels.
The Board need to revitalise the entire executive management team.
