Do not work at City Cave Aspley The job itself isn’t that bad. Lots in entitled customers that expect you to turn yourself inside out to accomodate their every whim but that’s expected in this “wellness” industry I guess. The best past of the job were my work mates - great bunch of girls. The worst part was the owner. No training systems in place at all. Basically you learn by making mistakes. Staff not trained properly means hygiene protocols not adhered to. No manuals or guidelines to go to for information on POS or any of the technologies - you basically are in WhatsApp constantly asking questions in the “group chat” hoping someone knows the answer. The owner plays staff off against each other, gives more shifts to his “favourites”. Constantly changes goal posts for sales goals, says he will give rewards but never does. Honestly the worst boss I’ve ever had in terms of support and leadership.

A few poor things contribute to City Cave not being the best place to work in the long run, but overall a good transition in between workplaces.
The good thingsThe customers. No day is ever the same. Also when you build rapport with your customers they may bring you little gifts to make you smile!
The challengesWorking alone. Not a lot of social aspect to build colleague relationships and have much of a business culture internally. No opportunity for growth. I had discussed promotion / role changes / various other job opportunities, up to five times while working there, unfortunately all met with no acknowledgment. Also a lot of shift changes and cancellations last minute. Despite needing to be available for the company at all times, the level of respect and dedication given to their staff is not what is expected from yourself.
