    Toxic and degrading
The good thingsSalary is somewhat decent.
The challengesCSL is very hierarchical and old-school, even within departments that are supposedly "innovative". Whether an idea is good or bad depends on the level of the person who came up with the idea. Large, big-corporation mentality with no prospects for progress and growth.

CSL is a good company to start your career and gain local experience in your field. There is no opportunity to grow.
The good thingsYou have job security at CSL
The challengesPoor leadership. Some of the managers lack technical knowledge. There is no growth opportunity for those who want to progress in their career.

    The good thingsPlenty of opportunities

CSL is the best place I have worked and it’s great to see its continued growth and success
The good thingsThere’s opportunities to learn and grow. Innovation is actively encouraged and initiative is rewarded
The challengesThe requirement of being a global company and APAC Timezone being difficult to work with Europe and IS at the same time

High paying, but a strange and frustrating work environment
The good thingsThere was not much to like about CSL, perhaps except for the salary.
The challengesMany staff in Business Technology are performing mainly (or even purely) administrative roles rather than engaging in activities that require genuine IT ability. The pay was vastly out of proportion to the tasks assigned. At times I felt like my manager's PA thanks to menial tasks such as maintaining the stationery cupboard and arranging Easter morning tea. Strange place indeed.

Toxic environment . Felt like I was a horse being flogged to keep producing work as fast as possible at all expenses. Pity.. has potential to be a better company. Presently has no soul and needs to come into the current century. Managers seem to stay p
The good thingsThe people you work with on a day to day basis. Your tribe
The challengesLack of recognition for your efforts, expectations of being flexible with your time yet not reciprocated by offering time inlieu or overtime for lower job bands. Senior roles in particular those with children offered a lot of flexibility and able to work from home. The others not. Managers very focused on their own KBA's at all expenses. Constantly being compared to high performers Very Hierarchical structure . Felt like I was at school being chastised and punished.

Used to be a company of envy, now becoming disoriented.
The good thingsLocal Australian R&D healthcare company with strong share performance. Previous strong vision as a plasma company. Highly cashed-up.
The challengesAggressive (US-oriented) R&D culture. Future vision is disjointed and unfocused. Senior managers in R&D not up to the standards of international, established pharma. Tremendous headwinds in trying to do biotech.

A good short term growth opportunity, but not for long term.
The good thingsThe other employees are fantastic, you can be assured of great colleagues once you’ve been there a while.
The challengesPossibly the worst HR practices and policies. Systems are outdated and can cause frustration. Self promotion is rewarded above the quiet achiever.

Six years and twelve contract assignments later, CSL is still the most professional, well balanced and quality focused organisation i have had the pleasure to work for.
The good thingsMy personal and professional development progressed constantly at CSL. It was a tremendous mix of staff with various educational abd cultural backgrounds.
The challengesLike most organisations, getting major functions ie. Quality and Manufacturing working together smoothly was always an enjoyable challenge.

An interesting but very challenging role.
The good thingsAn interesting company with an interesting product range that treat very ill patients.
The challengesManagement - Prior to my involvement there hadn't been a Sales Dept. As such the newly appointed Sales Manager from an internal appointment was learning on the job with few people management skills. Difficult! As my tenure there was now some years ago I'd hope the situation has now changed
