A waste of time, but worth knowing it was a waste of time.
The good thingsA couple of good colleagues.
The challengesI've had numerous blue collar jobs, laboring, warehousing, machining etc. The automotive industry seems to be full with A LOT of really socially inept people... Which is a shame, but I'm kind of not surprised.

Attempted to implement professional detailing standards, but poor work ethic and weak management sup
The good thingsWorking with people i have before
The challengesI joined Eagers Automotive with over 15 years of professional detailing experience, having been brought in specifically to help improve and professionalise the detailing department. Unfortunately, during my time there, I found that the environment made it very difficult to achieve those goals. While management initially expressed interest in implementing higher standards and safer work practices, there was little support to actually enforce them. Many staff had limited experience and lacked motivation to learn or improve, and when I raised legitimate safety and quality concerns, they were often dismissed or ignored. Despite my best efforts over six weeks to train and mentor the team towards professional, high-calibre detailing standards, the lack of accountability and resistance to change made it unsustainable. I take pride in quality workmanship, safety, and proper procedures — values that unfortunately were not shared or supported at the time.

Not friendly for developing young accountants. Still stuck in a very old environment
The good thingsYou meet some people that's easy to get along with Good Starting Salary for Undergrad/Grad levels
The challengesIn the interview , they would advise you that you will be built from the ground up. In reality, they expect you to pick things up from the get go when you don't have any experience in the automotive industry. There are no onboarding and training structure which is required for young accountants. Your left to figure it out on your own. It is best for young accountants to work at a firm first before going into commercial as they offer better training.

Lowest Paying Automotive Group in AUS! Not worth the stress and extremely heavy workload.
The good thingsGreat people to work with, free BBQ's and staff lunches.
The challenges- Learning/Training needs to be updated as different people will teach you a completely different process to another, learning needs to suit employees learning style. - HR/DP/FC needs improving/training when dealing with serious workplace incidents. (Felt like I was never taken seriously - as a woman in a male dominated field) - Job role will change, you will not be paid more, and you are expected to learn new processes. - Only one accountant (FC) available for a few hours a day - You will be on your own with no full-time accountants. - No pay rises after a year of employment and no sit-down discussions regarding employment. - Feels very unfulfilling. - Forgotten and not appreciated. - Stressful and fast paced job role

I don't think its possible for a publicly listed company to run local dealerships; which are supposed to create joy and good experience to REAL people. Don't chase the money, its never worth it. Find a good balance.
The good thingsThe void in a workplace with no culture or care for people whatsoever is usually filled by good, decent people.
The challengesSensitive upper management Nasty tactics of attack Lack of soul (everyone is just a number) Felt my health decline due to extreme high amounts of workload (income not worth it!!!)

Easily the worst car grup in Australia
    Aug 2025
Adelaide SA 50003 to 4 years in the role, former employee
The worst automotive group in Australia.
The good thingsI made good money, as one of only 2 sales people across 2 new brands and used cars you are certainly BUSY!
The challengesClaim to be the most admired group in the industry, I can guarantee you they are the most despised and least respected. Huge corporate entity that pays lip service to employee mental health, their modus operandi is to constantly cut costs to improve profit. Close and combine dealerships, close and combine service departments. Problem is they're now at the point they cant operate with any less staff. Now intent on hiring new industry staff that will accept their pathetic low base rate of pay. Impossible to keep up with workload and CRM list.

Underpaid and constant lack of respect for my time. The lack of respects shown to my staff and I was overwhelming and completely unprofessional. I urge everyone who works for this company to document everything.
The good thingsVery little. I don't have much to say that would support the company
The challengesAggressive management, low pay, no workplace support. Fight for leave and any day off. No work life balance at all.

Managed by a manager who does not acknowledge you at work, is rude and removes entitlements when a new senior manager comes in saying that is was a misunderstanding? If you work there - get everything in writing!
The good thingsThe brand Mercedes was the attraction - hoping for a great career path
The challengesYou get rewarded for great work with petrol, company car which promotes further great work, then a senior manager comes in and takes it all away without any reimbursement. Makes for a very unhappy workplace. No HR department to go to. She. You contact reception, staff are only contactable via email. They don’t return messages left at reception. Poor management.

Terrible company stay awayOnly good thing about eagers are some of the people you meet along the way. The pay that they advertise as competitive is a joke and when asking for a raise you're hit with this is the best you'll get. Upper management is useless. Terrible company steer clear at all costs

Unhealthy Work Environment and Management's Treatment of Employees Needs Improvement
The good thingsThe mechanics are great to work with, showcasing professionalism and teamwork.
The challengesManagers often resort to unfair treatment, failing to create the supportive environment they promise. Employee complaints are often turned into gossip and shared with the person they are about, leading to a demoralized workforce. There's a noticeable lack of respect and accountability from leadership

Avoid this company, you'll have a better life experience! The company has potential, but its corporate staff (management) is still stuck in the '60s (toxic culture), and its software is stuck in the '80s.
The good thingsThe team you collaborate with makes navigating the company's toxic culture more bearable until you reach your threshold.
The challengesThe corporate office environment is toxic and the old dinosaurs harvest a mindset of 1960, segregation rather than promoting a team culture.
