Rewarding experience building skills, confidence, and adaptability in a new workplace.
The good thingsI’ve really enjoyed the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a new work environment and build my practical skills. Working as part of a team has been a positive experience, and I’ve appreciated the support and guidance from colleagues. I’ve also found it rewarding to assist clients directly and contribute to their daily needs. Overall, the role has helped me grow in confidence, improve my communication skills, and better understand workplace expectations in Australia.
The challengesAdditional structured guidance or refresher training in certain areas could also improve confidence and efficiency on the job. With continued experience and support, I believe these areas will improve over time.

Great culture, professional development pathways, and benefits.
The good thingsFlexible working conditions, 9-day fortnight, team culture is supportive and highly motivated. There are professional development pathways, "Boss to Coach" program. Opportunities for everyone if you want to put in the time to grow and develop. I've come from the private sector and find that there are a lot more opportunities for growth with FCRC than I have experienced before.
The challengesI don't have any comments about what I don't like. I'm very fortunate to have found a great job.

    Toxic Toxic Toxic
The good thingsSome of the staff. Some opportunities are given if you know the right person, say the right things and follow without question.
The challengesMicromanagement. Convoluted processes. Unethical decision making. It’s very much who you know. Conform or you will be pushed out.

Good on paper - but ultimately not a good place to work. Avoid.
The good thingsTicks all the boxes when applying, interviewing, and getting employment. 9 day fortnight. Average pay. Great location.
The challengesPassive aggressive nature of some of the employees - like other councils, this work place is stuck in the dark ages regarding how to properly interact with colleagues in a professional manner. Management seem to have no idea what you are doing.

Book your therapy sessions in advance to recover from this workplace.
The good things9 day fortnight, the salary for indoor/office administration work groups.
The challengesTop heavy management, salary for outdoor workers does not match low level administrative staff, no career progression, toxic positivity and toxic workplace across most areas of the organisation. This Council not focussed on "Building better communities" This Council is purely focussed on internal office politics.
