A privleged role to be in, but ruined by Officers & Management who will make your life miserable.
The good thingsTravelling to other locations to work has been good, as well as Accomodation & Food being covered... but otherwise, not much else.
The challengesFavortism runs rampant in G4s and the Managers/Supervisors are all best mates, so you mess up with one, you mess up with all of them. Training is lazy and is past on to other Officers who aren't Qualified to provide training. Rumours are constantly spread about other Officers, and you cannot trust other Officers with anything. Some Officers have such inflated ego's that they cannot handle being told no either.

Can we fix it - Not chance - think twice before you jump
The good thingsNot many, Going home at the end of the swing, Training very unorganized, no planning, staff do what they want, no back up form senior management, always short staffed
The challengesThe work location is old, everything breaks down, most of your time is dealing with broken of outdated equipment or systems. The camp, is second rate, 15 hour days, paid for 12, travel time not included. Senior Management are very poor, there only focus is numbers of staff on duty so they can charge the client.

Poor pay, Have NO idea what they are saying about great staff benefits when we don’t get any benefits from working for them. The management team don’t care about us normal workers and a lot of internal issues.
The good thingsSorry but there is no good things working here, I would recommend working at MacDonalds
The challengesIt was advertised as a local job but I was made to travel an hour and 20 minutes 5 days a week to work.

It was the worst work experience of my life and I worked for a Security company that under paid staff for 5 years and I was treated better. from the management to the other people you work with they were all terrible people trying to put you down and would treat you poorly. out of the 20 people I regularly worked with only 4 were top people but they also moved on to better jobs.
The good thingsThe only good things were the travel allowance and to help people coming into court and assist with what they needed help with but it was made clear from management not to assist people out side of showing them where to go. Management and the Registrars always made a point of treating the true clients the people of Victoria who entered the doors of the court buildings as lesser not people we have to assist.
The challengesIt was advertised as a local job but I was made to travel an hour and a half 4 days a week to work. They didn't take to kindly to emergency services volunteers and restricted access to required equipment and would deny any request for work leave to attend emergency events and wouldn't take on bored expertise in that field. and when they found out about my ADHD they tried to move me to a different work place that was a 4 hour drive from my home and I refused to travel. I didn't give notice I contacted the United Workers Union and it took a further 12 months for them to give me my entitled pay.

Very toxic and controlled environment where you are either considered in or out of the circle which dictates your success within the job regardless of skill or ability.
The good thingsWork Life balance due to 3 day per week roster, above average salary for position
The challengesPoor management team, hostile work environment with a lot of internal issues, lack of support or ongoing training, below average staff amenities, environment where successful staff are related and toxicity is supported due to close friend and family relations amongst staff.

The good thingsFairly good pay with supportive managers, able to have a good work/life balance. Lots of different roles on offer within the business. It's also a global company - which is always interesting to be part of, as there's lots going on.

Keep scrolling - DO NOT APPLY - would not wish on my worst enemy.
The good thingsGoing home and driving around seeing the beautiful country side - Happy I got out when I did.
The challengesManagement, constantly changing the requirements without adequate information or consideration for you in the field. Upper Management saying one thing and never backing it up, ever. Saying that safety is the priority but only when the profit is not affected. Putting money and profit, first over the wellbeing of staff. no Christmas party.
