I learned new skills but am happy I left.
The good thingsOur team was nice and we got along well, I made a good friend there. Nice office in convenient location in the CBD. My manager was great.
The challengesThe pay was below average. For a while we were unpaid for our twice daily tea breaks which was not in line with the FairWork regulations (this got rectified after a system change at least). I felt that the business as a whole was insanely revenue driven to the point where corners were cut, and it was sometimes hard to justify the cost increase of our product to the customers. Parental leave pay was also pretty bad compared to other places.

Poor. the way you are treated is as less than a number but more as cannon fodder so the people who control the financial budgets responsible are not going to take responsibility
The good thingsThe weather, the friend I made
The challengesManagement in Adelaide, cost cutting to the point that client complaints start rolling in. Then it is the site managers fault and you are thrown under the bus

I loved the environment and showing it to people, that's strongly offset by lack of pleasant management.
The good thingsBeautiful environment, proud to show it to people. Other guides are excellent to work with.
The challengesManagement toxic, uninformed of duties but expected to perform them.Hours less than advised.New staff acquired but insufficient work for existing staff. New staff got formal high-level training that I was denied. I may have been setup for termination. No performance feedback. Shops 3 to 4 hours.

Good stepping stone, but too much chaos to stay long term
The good thingsCan stay in caravan parks, yoga in office
The challengesMany CIO’s in my time, leadership direction changed often, execs pulled my team in different directions. Everyone felt pressure, making teams overworked, hard to prioritise or plan - last minute changes always.

I was pleasantly surprised by the maturity and ongoing rapid growth of this organisation. The culture and people are great and it's clear they are investing in the right tools and systems to drive the business forward.
The good thingsThis is such a fun and passionate organisation to work for with a clear direction for the future. Opportunities are everywhere if you are up for the challenge to take this big small business to the next level, and backed by a great team.
The challengesTighter budgets in Parks mean it's a slower process for change however people are highly empowered and managers are always open to new ideas and improvements.
People and Culture TeamThanks so much for taking the time to leave a review. We’re glad to hear you’ve had a great experience at G’day Group — we’re proud of our people, our purpose, and the passion that drives us every day. Appreciate the support!

A passionate business, can go far - limited by systems, leadership tenue and turnover
The good thingsFrontline teams are passionate and hardworking. There’s room to take initiative, and the pace means you’re exposed to a variety of projects. Great opportunity for self-starters to make an impact if you're comfortable navigating ambiguity. New office is great, park discounts and overall network.
The challengesHR is seen as transactional with little operational alignment. Executive HR Leadership lacks large-scale experience. “Showcase” work is prioritised over substance, and employee surveys feel more like a search for dissent than a tool for genuine feedback. Projects are based on personal wants.

People and Culture TeamThanks for your honest feedback. It’s true — we move quickly, and there’s a lot happening as we grow and evolve. With that comes big opportunity, but we know it can be a challenge too. We’re working hard to support our team through that pace of change, and we appreciate your perspective.

You are just a number here
The good thingsVery little, unfortunately. Perhaps the location or working outdoors might appeal to some.
The challengesUnrealistic workloads and understaffing, especially during peak periods Poor time management leading to rushed and incomplete tasks Bias and unfair task distribution Management unwilling to accept feedback; creates a culture of fear and sickened inadequate tools and PPE Micromanagement very common

The challengesManagement not ready to lead a team and answer questions, chaotic environment without a plan to improve work quality. Low number of weekly shifts and not worker friendly

Don't bother unless you want to be treated like a number. There are better options out there.
The good thingsLocation and other staff.
The challengesDealing with arrogant management who couldn't care less about you. The staff meals were often inedible and accommodation was dirty. Pay often wrong and took a long time to get fixed. Safety of staff, non existent.

Should be the last place for anyone to think about working - management sucks !!
The good thingsOffice setup is good
The challengesPoor Management - no clear communication, no clarity of role, no timely feedback, treating people like numbers. They won't meet you to set expectations and shock with their rude feedback. Expecting the moon in first few days of work - no work related trainings.

While working for discovery parks, I have found that management to follow through with formal complaints & head office don’t take complaints seriously. Do not recommend to anyone if you want to be treated poorly at work.
The good thingsMet some lovely guests from all over & made some awesome mates
The challengesOther staff members that don’t listen or change things when your on days off. Head office not taking complaints seriously.

Support Office - Don't waste your time
The good thingsStaff rate to stay at the park
The challengesThe most toxic work environment I have ever encountered. An oblivious uncaring C-Suite who think they are above it all. The place is a revolving door of staff. The systems are completely inadequate. For a company in the hospitality industry, caring about the park guests is at the very bottom of the list.

really enjoyed the people i worked with, new manager of my department didn't know enough about my category and wasn't supportive or proactive, only looking out for himself.
The good thingsMy team members and meeting new co-workers.
The challengesa lot of office politics, even when you can make a huge difference and save vast sums of money, there are too many people who don't like change and stop you from progressing, lots of people like to have lots of meetings about doing lots of work but actually don't do anything.

Great then it turned absolutely horrible do not work there a lot of people have worked for a few days then left.
The good thingsWorking for the company for a very long time it was great, customers, staff and management even head office. Then in last 2 years of me working there it turned horrible new management and head office only cared about money. Lost a lot of regulars.
The challengesManagement and Head office do not care as long as it involves money they do not care even HR is terrible. Why have training and guidelines if they can't be followed

The good thingsGreat team and flexibility with work and/ or requested holidays
The challengesContacting head office proved difficult. Pay wasn't always accurate and required correcting, as this was also needed to be conducted via head office it would be delayed. No formal training provided and team skills were often mismatched
