This is the place to stay if you have no career ambition.
The good thingsThere is no single thing that is good about this place. From internal process to tech and strategic growth, everything is just horrible.
The challengesPoor Pay No growth and career opportunities Outdated tech and process compared to local banks Outdated management practices Internal politics Lack of accountabilty No Strategic decision Decision makers do not undertsand the process or future implications. Tells you a lot about leadership.

    I absolutely despise this place.
The good thingsI was paid on time, and I would occasionally have a positive interaction with a customer. For a time we had a strong team with a great manager.
The challengesManagement are the biggest challenge working here, with the lending team as a close second. They do not care about maintaining the conditions for staff, the internal processes that keep the place running, or treating the customers with respect.

The challengesthe covid 19 pandemic - dealing with clients face to face, in person meetings.

An organization that knows how to stay competitive with the likes of competitors, wanting to understand their employees’ behaviors, challenges and motivations, ultimately driving an organizational shift towards purpose, learning and development.
The good thingsThe scope of work within the group is diverse and you are constantly learning and developing yourself for new opportunities within the organization.
The challengesConformity of aligning group directive with local compliance regardless of region has always been a challenge but also rewarding when achieved. Corporate progression is also another aspect that is challenging due to diversity of scope of work.

Worst job you can ever imagine, I would not recommend any of my friends here.
The good thingsThe only good thing is you're often done by 6 or 7, so you can escape from your family members.
The challengesWorst job with the worst management. the most your will hear from the meeting is "You are the most valuable asset" the true feeling is quite opposite.

    Best Job I ever had.
The good thingsIt was my first Job,and to this day I still use every bit of knowledge I collected from HSBC.
The challengesOnly reason I left was to pursue a career in Engineering and science. The Bank could have pursued me to engage more in the financial industry.I fell they lacked in enthusiasm at that end.

Some innovative products and good people but slow to react to market challenges and only pay lip service to staff feedback
The good thingsSome genuinely supportive junior managers help make the work environment enjoyable, international career opportunities
The challengesOnerous systems and procedures and offshore ‘support’ teams, global directives through layers of management mean ownership of issues and feedback is lost

Sorry the business needs better management, who is more agile and open minded. Willing to make improvment not just believe in their small circle of support and remove contract staff and hire permeant staff and continue building you support HUB.
The good thingsGlobal Company and has lot of opportunities to offer and working in tower 1 Barangaroo office was amazing.
The challengesHSBC Australia has most horriable process for their retail banking service. Biggest issue most of the staffs are on contract or new to the business which also complicate the day to day support. HSBC Australia need better new system and process to be able to offer better service to customer and support to their staff. As complaint handling advocate, I was not offered with reasonable empowerment or support and training once joined HSBC. The Business needs to make big improvements on their process with their contact centre and make vigouros improvement complaint handling process.

Not a good place to work. Company structure is poor and not able to reach top level. You will not gain anything except the bad politics. Stay away from this place.
The good thingsGood pay and bonus but company expectations are very high.
The challengesPoor and very old tech. Over staffed and hard to get things done. No expertise.

A waste of years of my working life.
The good thingsNormally pleasant colleagues and environment
The challengesManagement that rewards people in their social circle. It seems ok to have relationships in the same office between managers and subordinates. Senior management turns a blind eye to their detriment.
