What’s it like working at HSBC?

    AI summary of recent reviews

HSBC offers several positive aspects that employees value, including excellent work-life balance and flexible working arrangements. The bank's global presence provides international career opportunities, while many appreciate the office facilities, particularly in premium locations like Barangaroo. The workplace culture is generally inclusive, with a focus on equal opportunities and supportive colleagues.

However, employees face certain challenges in their daily work. The bank's technology and processes are often described as outdated, which can impact efficiency. Career progression can be limited, particularly in local roles, and some employees note that management practices could be more engaging and supportive. The presence of significant bureaucracy and complex administrative processes can also make it challenging to implement changes or make decisions efficiently.

This is the place to stay if you have no career ambition.

    I absolutely despise this place.
The good thingsI was paid on time, and I would occasionally have a positive interaction with a customer. For a time we had a strong team with a great manager.
The challengesManagement are the biggest challenge working here, with the lending team as a close second. They do not care about maintaining the conditions for staff, the internal processes that keep the place running, or treating the customers with respect.
