What’s it like working at J & P Richardson Industries?

    AI summary of recent reviews

J & P Richardson Industries offers several positive aspects including a supportive work environment where employees feel valued and part of something meaningful. The company provides above-award pay and many employees appreciate the good management style that allows for independent work without micromanagement.

However, there are some challenges to consider, including inconsistent workload with some periods being very demanding and others having insufficient work. The company can be slow to implement changes, though this is balanced against their 60-year track record of success. Some employees also note that work-life balance can be challenging during busy periods.

I worked here previously, and unfortunately, it was a negative experience. The hours were excessive—often over 8 per day—with no additional pay for overtime, as it was included in the base salary. There was little regard for work-life balance. Leaving on time was frowned upon, and I was often made to explain incomplete tasks, even when workloads were unrealistic. This created a demoralising and high-pressure environment. Despite the long hours, there was little appreciation from management. The manager was often rude, micromanaged staff, and showed little trust in the team. Feedback was rarely constructive. The overall culture was toxic, with high turnover and low morale. I would not recommend this workplace to anyone seeking a healthy or supportive environment.
The good thingsNothing positive to share from my time here. The work hours were excessive with no extra pay, and leaving on time was discouraged. Management was rude, micromanaging, and offered little to no support or appreciation. Staff were constantly pressured to justify incomplete work despite unrealistic workloads. The culture was toxic, morale was low, and turnover was high. I would not recommend this workplace.
The challengesToxic work culture, poor management, and no work-life balance

Coming to JPR has been my best career decision.
The good thingsJPR has an amazing culture - you feel like you are part of something, and you know you have the support of the team to make a difference.
The challengesSometimes slow to adopt change. But that said, 60 years of success suggests they know what they are doing and they know how to satisfy their clients
