    Terrible, Work ANYWHERE else!
The good thingsThe other crewmembers and some customers are great, and the discount is reasonable.
The challengesEverything. Management is lousy, changes frequently, they have no spines against higherups and there is constant cuts to staffing! Company is more interested in Image than caring about its workers or customers. Will sweep incidents of mistreatment from customers under the rug to save face and will fire staff instead of admit fault. Workers are overworked and burned out, leading to multiple issues in store from uncleanliness to lack of stock to constant thefts. Attempts to change from casual to part time are constantly met with dirty tactics and any trick they can think of to prevent conversion. Union is frequently needed to step in to help staff. Management also attempts to avoid interaction with union reps at all costs. There is frequent power play amongst managers, and they all believe they are the final say causing confusion when instructions are given to staff.

A nightmare - all day, every day
The good thingsA select few Team Members who were genuine, honest, supportive and aware of the ‘Kmart Culture’ .
The challengesThe Kmart Culture embraces and encourages Team members and Management to treat outsiders ( TM recruited externally) very badly. Outside recruits are set up to fail and heaven forbid an outsider was to bring new 🆕 ideas, it’s the Kmart way or the Highway. The company says it embodies the Kaizen approach yet is still operating from a directive developed approximately 15 years ago. It lacks the fundamental IT infrastructure but continues to bog down an over capacity IT network with even more software applications. It’s made a simple business extremely complicated and frustrating. At all levels the people are fake.

Great first job for teenagers, but managers are very aggressive
The good thingsReally good job for a young person. Relatively easy to learn, and flexibility with shifts around school hours. Lots of different jobs within the store to keep you learning and trying new things. Even though management is ridiculous, coworkers make it really fun. Overall, a great first job.
The challengesManagers have a power trip bossing their teenage employees around. Like, what do you mean you're 50 and yelling at me because I made a mistake with my availability? I think it's because they're older and stuck in a dead-end job, but they could learn some basic manners. It's not that deep. If you want to learn a new job in the store, it can take months to years of asking management. I was doing the same role in the store for just over a year without learning anything new, and it took a manager calling me the b-word and threatening to fire me over a small mistake to get out of that role. She never had to apologise for that either.

Work is decent, but sloppy management.
The good thingsI get to work out back, we have music playing, and we have a very efficient workflow. I like getting small bonuses every couple of months, and my discount is handy, especially if you shop a lot at Kmart.
The challengesSometimes my coworkers don't follow work rules and may be reckless when working or may not say very work-appropriate things. We have a survey every year that asks about your workplace experiences, and after writing about it, nothing is ever done, and the managers don't take reports seriously.

Met some nice colleague's, but my experience during the last weeks have been terrible. Full of comments, back stabbing
The good thingsThe night staff I worked with were great. But the managers in night and in the mornings are by far the most toxic, evil people you will ever it. They will happily tell lies about you to make themselves look great to the store manager and above. They don't know how to lead at all.
The challengesThe toxicity from upper staff and morning staff. They blaming everyone on you

The good thingsNot many, The breaks was probably the best part of the day.
The challengesThe team leaders, and existing staff. Different rules for different people, everyday.
