Poor leadership leads to poor culture
The good thingsEasy going ops and warehouse staff, salary comparable.
The challengesNegativity and poor culture, management look after mates only, no development opportunities, outdated processes, cogs turn slowly, silo'd departments, issues stem from top. 2.6 stars says it all.

High turnover of drivers says it all
The good thingsSouthside location, very low klm each day, mainly labouring.
The challengesAllocation of work by someone who has no idea of tasks. Old hand me down equipment pensioned off by southern states referred to as "new".

If you want to work for an industry leader with strong commitment to safety….. this is not it
The good thingsThe people are great to work with
The challengesDon’t go there thinking it’s a professional environment, you will be sorely disappointed, don’t believe the overtime claims… a lie to get you through the door. Employee retention is low and pay isn’t what they say it is, it’s who you know not what you know at K&S freighters. Everybody Safe Everyday… unless it costs us money!

A division that has lots of potential. Great for someone that doesn't have any life/ family commitments.
The good thingsA lot of the driver's were great to work with. There were a few that had a great sense of team spirit and community. For someone that is up for a challenge, this place has plenty of them! There was often extra hours for those that wanted them. Usually paid on time.
The challengesThe amount of names that came in/out was hard to keep up with at times. Concerns into family work/life balance went ignored by the management team. Equipment and network systems weren't always the most reliable. Favouritism is very evident within the team

On my experience only work life balance is pros rest is like I wish. Management and pay rate below average, physically demanding job
The good thingsWork life balance only the good things I can remember
The challengesHard to follow instructions from different locations and different person for no reason. Very unorganised old school.

I worked at K&S Freighters and had a fantastic experience. The company culture is supportive and inclusive, with a strong emphasis on teamwork and collaboration. There are continuous opportunities for professional development, which helped me grow my skills and advance my career. The excellent work-life balance allowed me to manage my personal and professional life well. Compensation is competitive, and the leadership team genuinely cares about employee well-being and development.
The good thingsThe people and culture. There is a lot of support offered from experienced, long-term employees at the company.
The challengesSystems which they are working on upgrading.

Great group of drivers and local management team. Watch out for the corrupt "head office" muppets at Truganina and Mt. Gambier.
The good thingsLocal management team is great in certain locations. You'll get plenty of hours if you're willing to work hard.
The challengesTry your hardest not to get injured. K&S are "self insured" through ComCare and it's their policy to deny all liability for any injury, which means YOU foot the bill for all medical and any time off due to injury comes out of your own leave. The company values money well over and above their people. Avoid at all costs.

If you want to progress - don’t choose K&S.
The good thingsThe drivers & the customer. Depending on your manager and position they are relatively flexible on hours.
The challengesManagement don’t listen to anyone below them, and there is a high turnover in staff in all areas. Very stuck in their ways regarding procedures and old fashioned approaches.

I have never been happier than when I left this place. Should have left years ago but I am grateful for the experience that I gained.
The good thingsMost people were great to work with.
The challengesRidiculous workloads and deadlines. Many long term people have left due to obvious burnout not being dealt with appropriately.

No respect for your health then work here.
The good thingsSome good people work there, the customers we deal with, work/life /salary/balance suits me.
The challengesGetting anything fixed, finding the least defective truck to drive that will do the least damage to your body when using it, never seen drivers with such bad health because of the conditions.

Scary, may have improved with some newer equipment, if maintenance needs to be done get it done in Truganina not in Mt Gambier
The good thingsNew Scania Trucks come if you wait long enough.
The challengesSafety, due to "self-compliance"within NHVR, safety is gone out the window, apprentices and low experienced mechanics working on potentially flammable missile. The fleet of older trucks are all beyond their working life, and the trailers need full overhaul, we are talking FUEL here, not general haulage. very scary
