Professional development and staff wellbeing is a priority and it's the friendliest place I've worked
The good thingsEveryone is so friendly, kind and genuine. MRSC has the most approachable CEO who is passionate, caring and takes time to know the employees. Wellbeing of staff is a priority and MRSC offers a great work life balance. The HR team have worked so hard to improve culture since the 2020 restructure and it's finally having a ripple effect across Council. The professional development offered is of a high standard and allowed me to progress my career.
The challengesThe challenges have been turnover of staff, but I can see this was necessary in some cases.

Join a local and supportive organisation with great benefits.
The good thingsMRSC has fantastic onboarding systems in place to give new staff a warm welcome. Engaged leadership team, good policies and practices, and a fun team environment. Overall, I've been very impressed with my induction to MRSC and am looking forward to continuing to grow. Working close to home is a great benefit, and the Macedon Ranges are a picturesque place to work. Great benefits including Purchased Leave (up to additional 4 weeks leave per year) and true flexibility.
The challengesAs a local Council, MRSC are doing a lot with little budget and resources. Well done for making this work!

Overall, my experience here has been great. I like challenging work and opportunities to explore new ways of doing things so working here has given me that. Plus, I work in an amazing team with talented people who are super smart and motivated (and heaps of fun) so I definitely want to stay forever!
The good thingsGreat people. Lots of flexibility. Challenging and interesting work; innovation and creativity is valued. Lots of opportunities for learning and development.
The challengesAny bureaucracy can be challenging for people that like to move fast, but checks and balances are an important part of accountability and transparency, after all, we are spending money that belongs to rate payers, so we need to be careful and thoughtful about that.
