Stay Away if you value your physical and mental health!
The good thingsWorkmates make the worst day ok.
The challengesThe pay is a joke. The roster is a joke. Staff morale is low and management is sickeningly incompetent. The number of rooms to be cleaned are unrealistic. The housekeeping supervisor is unpleasant to work with and goes on frequent power trips by glaring at you. She is a very hypocritical person.

Only work here temporarily, if you don't have any other options. Believe me, you deserve better than working for this company!
The good thingsIt was one of the worst 1,5 years in my entire life.
The challengesBasic undereducated workmates, some are Iowlife people. The management is a joke. Don't waste your time here, unless you don't have other opportunities.

5 to 6 years in the role, former employee
6 yrs 2 months like this, then covid 19 came , personally I felt I had given enough
The good thingsSatisfaction as a cleaner I was told what was required in my job duty description and was able to complete over and above my work station due to the hours I worked and also adaptability in working for the company for so long As I worked from 10 pm till 6am for the majority of my employment I was able to adapted to what ever was needed including flooded rooms ,Grease traps over flowing , Intoxicated people as I worked in an hotel environment, Domestic Issues that arise in the hotel industry, Customer Complaints and also issues in rooms upon checking in, generally what ever happened from 10pm till 6am we adjusted our work duty to cover what ever arises though out our shift It was never the same and I can honestly say it certainly wasn't boring... Challenge in the work place is interesting but also adaptable given the right tools.
The challengesEvery night I worked was never the same as it was in a hotel, I could never go into work on a certain night and assume tonight was going to be easy or challenging so it gave variety . No mon to fri could ever be described as predictable I enjoyed the fact that some nights you were able to complete your work and do extras and some nights you were so under the pump you achieved what was required but dealt with items that weren't normally required

Wouldn’t do it again but still grateful for the experience!
The good thingsdecent pay and good hours, also got free lunch everyday which was great
The challengesSupervisors were very rude, was a very negative environment to be in, as I worked in house keeping, I worked mainly with women, there was constant gossiping about each other. Also a physically demanding job so would be constantly exhausted, great if you are fit though or wanting to drop some weight.

Its not a easy run and at the same time its not impossible to work at mantra,i would say working at Mantra helped me in building the confidence and extended my culinary skills which required for my career growth.
The good thingswell equipped kitchen and scope to learn within the team and diverse operations with conference, ala carte and breakfast handling in big numbers
The challengesRotating in all the sections of the kitchen and learning every task involved in the operational techniques.

    Memorable & challenging
The good thingsLoved customer service which assisted that passion. Created new life long friendships. The systems are user friendly & Mantra holds fair regulations to their guests which was easy to demonstrate understanding.
The challengesPeppers was great, however, working at a Mantra property suffers with the lack of resources to obtain successful outcomes when dealing with complaints.

Do not work for Mantra poor conditions and the pay is the National minimum award wage.
The good thingsMeeting new guests and making them feel welcome, helping with suggestions for restaurants and activities and places to visit
The challengesThe management are very unfair with rosters and expectations when you did something good it went unnoticed but as soon as you made one mistake you knew about it and so did everyone else. No confidentiality with the Superviser.

The good thingsGuaranteed to have a good time with great team members. Guests were alright most of the time. Good discounts now that Mantra is part of Accor.
The challengesManagement was poor - FOM would frequently avoid handling issues and complaints. Not much opportunity for career development.

Good opportunity to work in hotels, however it is strata managed and heavily influenced by unit owners. If your ok with treating unit owners before guests, then you will excel.
The good thingsUsually the team your working with is good, and you get great discounts at mantra and Accor properties.
The challengesLack of synergy between front office and housekeeping. Guest service can suffer because not everyone wants to put them first. Also plenty of stale management who sit in middle positions not wishing to progress higher, but make everyone below them work twice as hard.
