The challengesToxic culture, nepotism and double standard to employee. Huge turnover in employment tells you all about it.

The good thingsSalary, rooms and the food

Very poor company to work for
The good thingsThe food was ok that's about it
The challengesToxic management, they have no concerns about our wellbeing, expected to sleep in day shift rooms while shift working. Don't expect to stay in the new resort haulage team isn't allowed in there

    Jul 2025
Onslow WA 67102 to 3 years in the role, former employee
Experienced mobile plant operator skilled in handling diverse machinery, adapting to changing site conditions, and maintaining high safety and efficiency standards across various work environments
The good thingsCoordinating movements with ground crews and other operators is essential. I enjoy the challenge of maintaining clear communication, especially in noisy or busy environments, to ensure smooth, safe collaboration
The challengesOperating machinery that hasn’t been properly maintained can be stressful and unsafe. I take pride in using well-serviced equipment, and working with neglected machines can make the job more difficult than it should be

Leadership and camp need workWhat's advertised is not what the role entails. It is true what they say about this company. Trust your gut. When the supt does not turn on the video function during the interview, major red flag. The food is the same every week. Its on par with the quality of Sodexo. Menus do not change. Rooms at Onslow are not permanent and you store all your stuff in a container. The resort at KB is also not permanent so becareful what you wish for. This is not a company that cares for the people they employ. They do not want to invest in people.

Top-heavy and outdated management and organisational structure. Their approach to cutting costs is firing staff and making people redundant. Would not recommend engaging with this low-level company.

Port Hedland, Karratha & Pilbara WA1 to 2 years in the role, former employee
Good experience on how not to run a Lithium operation and learnt heaps about MRLs general apathy for the tech services work. Food and 'resort style' living should not be your only draw card for working at a job
The good thingsNot much to say really. Food is good I suppose
The challengesIf this company is to excel as an owner operator they need to listen to the advice given to them by the technical services teams. Tonnes is not king if they wish to excel in the lithium business. They are well off being up there with the likes of Rio or BHP. A long way. Lose the contractor mentality

    All smoke and mirrors
The good thingsThe food and rooms are the only positive
The challengesthis company will sell you the world, they claim career progression is important to them for there employees where this is not the case, they have people in supervision who have no idea of the work that goes on for there workers, they will do anything to not allow people to progress and upskill

Port Hedland, Karratha & Pilbara WA1 to 2 years in the role, former employee
The values of the company are not lived at all. The management approach to their people is autocratic. They will appear to say they care for their people, but the reality is the psychosocial impacts are far and wide. Many people getting made redundant from a poorly run company that wastes cash. Don’t work here.
The good thingsThe pay was good. Food was good
The challengesManagement approach is poor. No change management, just make things up as they go. Which results in safety issues and waste of cash/time. Treat people poorly.

A company with no care for its people
The good thingsNothing, other than the pay but that comes at cost.
The challengesThe management in PMI is extremely toxic and fosters a culture of inefficiency and nepotism. They also have no care for the safety of their staff in the least. Breaches of the zero tolerance policy can mean a flight out for some or an open door to more career opportunities for others.

Bad culture, bull*ing and neglect from management
The good thingsBenefits, packaging, nice facilities
The challengesHorrendous culture between staff and management within the crèche. They pushed out a staff member by allowing bull*ing. Struggled with anxiety and depression, raised this with management, was never ask how I was after or referred to their onsite psychologist.worstvcompany I’ve ever worked for.

Toxic management who don't let you have opinions
The good thingsMade some life long friends through the trauma we all went through
The challengesManagement is extremely toxic, if you have new and better processes there is no point saying it out loud as you will be rejected immediately. False promises are made all the time and unless you have the personality of a sponge you will succeed here. Horrible environment if you have humour lol

Far from perfect but not terrible.
The good thingsGood money and upskilling with tickets. Good group of blokes and chicks. Food is great too.
The challengesExtremely wasteful company. Waste money with contractors sitting around doing nothing. when they do, do something people in shirts have the skills and knowledge to do it but will be benched to the side to watch. Management pick favourites. Every site is ran different nothing is the same.

Toxic nepotistic culture. Problems and no solutions. They copy and paste Rio-Tinto
The good thingsSome great crew and good laughs through my time.
The challengesPressure put on crews to achieve targets and hit performance goals, beyond operators control. Poor management (lack of fixing larger significant problems while simultaneously micro-managing minor things like not wearing safety glasses outside the office door). Poor culture (rug lift and sweep).
