My experience working under Monjon at Waurn Ponds Shopping Centre was the worst in my 15 years of employment in Australia across six companies. The management style was unprofessional, overly micromanaging, and unsupportive. Security officers were treated unfairly, blamed for every issue, and subjected to public humiliation in unofficial group chats. Staff were routinely expected to perform duties outside their job description, and procedures were constantly changed without consultation, creating confusion and risk. The workplace culture was toxic, stressful, and unsafe, with no genuine respect or professionalism shown towards security staff. I would not recommend this employer unless someone is absolutely desperate for work.
The good thingsConstant shift Good earning Ontime pay Other sitr oppurtunities
The challengesMicromanagement: Manager excessively micromanages day-to-day tasks, creating unnecessary stress. •Lack of support: Manager does not back up security officers and always sides with client management. •Unprofessional conduct: Staff are publicly told off in an unofficial group chat; conflicts are managed poorly. •Unrealistic expectations: Required to perform duties outside the security role (e.g., setting up tables, moving chairs, kiosks). •Blame culture: Security officers are routinely blamed for issues, with no opportunity to provide input. •Constantly changing procedures: Work procedures are altered after each incident without consultation, leaving staff confused and exposed. •Public humiliation: Mistakes highlighted in group chats early in the morning, leading to anxiety and loss of morale. •Toxic environment: Staff feel constantly worried about being criticised, creating a stressful and unsafe workplace culture,Overall lack of respect, professionalism, and fair treatment per norms
