appears good from the outside until problems arise.
The good thingsFriendly staff & freedom within the role (autonomy)
The challengesvery vague with expectations and standards, lacked procedures and protocols, toxic management culture (the right employees weren't being rewarded) pay was low for the hours and working structure.

Join a supportive and proactive team!
The good thingsThe environment in the Business Operations team is the most actively supportive workplace I've had the pleasure to be a part of. NEXTDC places large emphasis on ensuring employees are properly resourced for their roles, and that processes are continually improved to both lighten workload and improve quality of output. Working with NEXTDC has been a great experience and I would recommend the company to anyone with a passion for problem solving who wants to be part of a team that is supportive, committed, and effective.
The challengesHonestly, I can't think of any particular negatives. I am leaving this role to pursue a different career and not due to any bad experiences.

Absolutely amazing, NEXTDC is a place where you grow professionally and work with smart people who push you to be better everyday.
The good thingsGreat culture, vision and mindset to grow everyday. Challenging yourself in different situations to be better everyday. Working along with different teams and divers
The challengesOpportunities to grow internally rapidly and quickly. There is a high competition but I think there can be work done to create room for employees to grow and step up in senior roles.

Staff were awesome / management awful
The good thingsThe staff below manager level were awesome however if your face did not fit with the manager of the facility that was it you were looked upon with disdain, although I did not work with front of office security, the so called manager at P1 Malaga treated them so poorly . I was not trained sufficiently in house and that reflected on a few things. I was told one minute it’s ok we won’t bring that up but on notice of termination it was the first thing on the page !! The manager is / was in it for himself no one else .
The challengesSee above as I can’t copy and paste basically the challenge was the manager and his antiquated management techniques born from north west of England Liverpool even

Building the digital economy one data centre at a time. If you use AI or the Cloud in Australia, you're likely using NEXTDC.
The good thingsAn amazing growth story over such a short period. A passionate and genuine management team with huge opportunity as the Data Centre market leader in Australia.
The challengesWith such rapid growth, there's time's you need to buckle up to get things completed. But there's a huge team around you driving in the same direction to continually please the Customer which drives great behaviour and team work.

Navigating a toxic experience was a painful journey, but it ultimately empowered me to prioritize my well-being and seek healthier environments.
The good thingsFortunate to work with such wonderful colleagues who have enriched my experience at the company.
The challengesUnder the new leadership at NEXTDC, I encountered several challenges that significantly impacted my experience. The lack of support and communication within the team made it difficult to thrive. Additionally, there seemed to be a preference for power plays rather than nurturing a collaborative environment, which I found to be counterproductive. One of the most frustrating aspects was the apparent lack of knowledge and expertise within the management team compared to my own experience. I often felt that I had a deeper understanding of certain aspects of the job. Despite my willingness to contribute and share my knowledge, this was not always valued or acknowledged. While the leaders did communicate a vision, the day-to-day realities within the company, such as the lack of support, communication breakdowns, and power dynamics, overshadowed the positive aspects of that vision. These factors played a significant role in my decision to leave NEXTDC. While I encountered challenges during my time here, I also recognize that every organization has room for improvement. Firstly, I would encourage NEXTDC to consider enhancing communication and transparency within the company. Clearer communication channels and a more transparent decision-making process can help employees understand the company's direction and feel more engaged Secondly, I would suggest exploring ways to foster a more inclusive and diverse workplace. This could involve initiatives to ensure that all employees, regardless of their roles or schedules, feel valued and included. Lastly, I would recommend evaluating opportunities for professional growth and career advancement within the organization. A structured approach to career development and mentorship programs can go long way in retaining and nurturing talent.

Lots of smiles and laughs, for not a lot of money, and I was never really shown how to do my job properly.
The good thingsThe people at NEXTDC, especially their M2 facility, are absolutely brilliant people.
The challengesFor technicians - the pay is very low compared to other data centres/facility management companies.

The CEO is a smart man who knows everyone in the business by the first name, he also knows that a satisfied and engaged workforce helps drive financial performance. NEXTDC is on it's way to be an iconic Australian tech business with offices across the wor
The good thingsGreat learning environment to work at. Awesome co-workers and management go out of their way for employees and customers. - amazing culture and smart people, truly live up to company values. - due to the above, some great talent there and personally have the best manager that furthered my growth and development. - Exciting industry to be in - Data Centre is pivotal for Industry 4.0 and the digital transformation of society as a macro level. The business constantly adapts and re-evaluates what's happening in the market which makes this a fast-paced and never boring place.
The challengesEquip mid-level and front liners to be able to articulate the vision of the executive leadership team so that people are able to connect the dots between their work and where the organisation is going to be in the next 5 years. This is a change rich environment and to be successful you must be able to pivot. This isn't necessarily a \"con\", but rather a necessary consequence of an organisation going through a massive change and growth in order to achieve better results. So if you want to learn and grow, this is a perfect place to do it. There are lots of smart introverts in the business at the front-line and as specialists. The business could proactively take active steps to help the silent achievers come out of their shell.

Excelent place to grow and create a meaningful career
The good thingsIn the 5 years I have been away NEXTDC has grown in size and maturity. It is still a company focused on the needs of customers. The organsiation supports and actively rewards staff for good performance. There is a team culture that is strong and supportive. Management listens to staff and acts to address concerns or investigate suggested ideas. Diversity and inclusion is one of the core attributes and is actively supported at all levels.
The challengesNothing of note. As with all companies that are growing - there are teething problems that require patience to understand and adapt to.

Amazing place to work and I would recommend to anyone!
The good thingsI ahve been working at NEXTDC for over 18months now and the company and people continue to amaze me everyday. From the friendly faces, to the professionalism in everyday work, NEXTDc is a great place to work and I have reocmmended many friends who have gone on to also have successful carrers here.
The challengesChallenges I faced were all met by management, outside of the location fo my current house and travel I would have to commit to working but when you work in an office such as this becomes less of a challenge every day!

A good company to break into the IT and telecommunication industry
The good thingsA fast growing data centre with a passionate CEO who is a great leader. He would greet his employees by first name and really get to know you no matter where you are in the organisational hierarchy. Onsite parking for a lot of the staff at the Sydney site. Great facility with well stocked kitchenettes An expanding company in a high demand IT/telecommunication industry - jobs are available and NEXTDC is always hiring internally and externally.
The challengesAs a Customer Service Representative, you are part of a team who works 24/7. This meant there were company social events you would not get to due to your shift work. The company makes little effort to include you in the event if you are working. Some individuals in managerial roles have insufficient skills to lead a team. This affects the morale of their team and it shows when you interact with them. However nothing is done to support the team(s). The monthly employee recognition program is biased; the same people always win these awards. There is a lot of 'It is not my job' attitude across different departments. NEXTDC values feedback, but they value customer feedback more than their employees.

Incongruous decision making processes spoiled an otherwise great place to work
The good thingsThe people were generally lovely, and genuinely cared about delivering a great experience to customers.
The challengesDecisions were made by senior executives against and despite the advice of managers, with generally negative effects on standards.

Exciting and innovative company; great place to work!
The good thingsNEXTDC is a young company which is experiencing huge growth, this means endless possibilities. You are encouraged to provide input on all company matters and you can really make a difference. Everyone is very approachable at NEXTDC, including all levels of management. People are passionate about what they do and are committed to making NEXTDC a great place to work. The working environment is fun, flexible and supportive, it’s the best culture I’ve experienced in my career.
The challengesNEXTDC is a very fluid company without a huge amount of structure, if you are someone who likes clear defined processes then this may be tricky at times as you often need to create your own structure in your role. As technology is always evolving, you need to be able to quickly adapt to changing environments which can be challenging.

    Great people, great challenges.
The good thingsThe people and the working environment are fantastic and welcoming. Being such a young company there should be room for career development, due to the shortness of my stay with NEXTDC i was not able to explore this.
The challengesDuring my employment at NEXTDC they had a high turnover of technical specialists. This was due to a particular manager whom no longer works for the company. A great deal of the infrastructure is based around open source. I personally enjoy a challenge, however, for some people, the learning curve can be steep.
