A memorable and rewarding retail experience
The good thingsWorking at Nike was such a positive and memorable chapter for me. I felt welcomed into a team that was supportive, friendly and full of great energy. The culture truly felt like a community rather than just a workplace. I learned so much during my time here, not only about product knowledge and customer service, but also about teamwork, communication and confidence in a fast-paced environment. Every shift was different and engaging, and I always felt proud to represent a brand with such strong values and standards. I have honestly never felt so proud to work for a brand, believe in what it stands for, and I know I will always be a supporter of Nike. The people I worked alongside made the experience what it was. I always felt supported by both my teammates and leaders.
The challengesThe main challenge for me was the lack of consistent hours as a casual team member. At times this made it difficult to maintain routine and financial stability. However, this was never a reflection of the store team themselves.

A store that had great potential...
The good thingsUniform allowance, employee discount policy, Break room facilities and the friends you make along the way.
The challengesWas really disappointed to see strong staff members leave due to lack of internal progression. Was disappointed seeing the treatment of one very good worker on their last day. The leadership team have dropped the ball, alot of favoritism. Can't blame the high turn over on the staff when management themselves don't let team members progress.

A supportive team environment with great perks and friendships, but hindered by workplace drama.
The good thingsBuilding good friendships, team member discounts, uniform allowance twice a year, and break room facilities.
The challengesLeadership team could provide more growth opportunities, a lot of workplace drama, favouritism and no consideration of our mental wellbeing.

You'll be stuck working with people that are happy doing nothing.
The good thingsuniform allowance, discounts, early product releases, flexibility with shifts most of the time.
The challengesToo clicky and a lot of favouritism. High school drama to the max. Managers that have no clue, and workers that get away with honestly doing nothing. Really negative work culture.

    Inconsistent management, no appreciation
The good thingsThe benefits, the friends I’ve made
The challengesThe management at the store won’t do anything if you have a problem, there’s no loyalty or recognition to long term employees, lets certain staff get away with things others wouldn’t. Tend to make staff do way more than they get paid for

Sporting athletes which you are asking for need regular time off to train and play? Isn’t this ad just asking for the impossible??

Incredible products, staff discount and coworkers but sadly not worth the trouble and mental circus you have to go through with poor management.
The good thingsIncredible discount, great coworkers, great training.
The challengesVery poor management, little care for staff mental well-being. No chance for promotion unless you’re exactly like the rest of the management team.

The good (product), the bad (upper management) and the ugly (HR)
The good thingsSalary was decent comparable with other retailers, chances for advancement if you are in the inner sanctum, discounted product.
The challengesIf you fall out of favour with upper management you are targeted to leave, HR was horrible, behind the times in retail operations compared to other National brands, company constantly streamlining business so job never safe!

Was a role with a company I love but there is lots that could be better.
The good thingsThe customers that become regulars and people appreciating your help. The product and the on-going learning and insight into designs was awesome. The team of people I worked with once management became a bit more stable was great. And the best was wearing sneakers to work everyday!
The challengesThe most challenging aspect was the amount of times management changed in the duration of time I worked here. Managers were constantly changing. The hours were very up and down and you were expected to cover shifts last minute frequently. No opportunity to grow! No room to develop your skills and advance into a higher role they seemed to prefer to hire external than work with supporting growth from within an existing team member.

RPG Nike work you to the ground and dont repay their staff the way they should. They will also make you step down from your position if you are having a baby, to make way for someone else. The brand is amazing. Just not the franchisee. Dont work for RPG.
The good thingsWorking for a reputable brand. And the perks of a uniform allowance.
The challengesStruggling with wirk life balance. 40 hour weeks. Doesn't suit parents with children.
