If more proactive training had been provided around the current insurance environment and the genuine stress our customers are facing - I feel this job would have gone better, however for the workload and complexity of work do feel that pay is low.
The good thingsGreat team, long-standing members and demonstrated community. High quality computer set up provided. Beautiful office.
The challengesBack to back calls with less than 30 seconds between as an expectation while addressing high intensity significant premium increase queries. Lack of support and inefficient complaints process causing further grief to clients and a poor working experience. Underprepared for the call types we would be receiving.

You have to be in the click.
The good thingsWorking from home, staff discounts.
The challengesMicro managed, call after call when managers are doing nothing and never available when they’re needed. The pay is woeful for the expectations.

    Soul destroying.
The good thingsAllowing us to work from home has been good. The discounts on insurance is great.
The challengesManagers are Terrible. The team leaders are constantly listening to calls being far too critical and asking us to push sales on customers that clearly can’t afford anymore insurance. Make one mistake and that’s cause to receive a warning. They want robots working there not humans.

Learning curve, it was tolerable for a few years but the clicky mentality and total lack of regard for admin was enough to finish me.
The good thingsSome of the people were great, they kept me sane
The challengesConstant restructuring, some of the senior managers should have been removed a long time ago. Toxic environment if you weren't one of the cool kids. Absolutely no development even though cost centres had budget for all team members. The 10% bonus promised at interview was never going to happen achievable, lucky if you got 2% even after a high performance rating.

    DON'T BOTHER!!
The good thingsNot much. Make sure you work for IAG directly and NOT Country Services (franchise branches).
The challengesCasual ONLY!! Make sure you apply through IAG and working under IAG. Working for Country Services you don't get the same benefits as IAG employees and minimum basic hourly wage.

Great potential career if you work hard
The good thingsGreat training- investing back into their people is important to NRMA WFH opportunities -
The challengesToo many changes to deal with constantly - leaders are shuffled around a lot. Offshoring.

Not bad, but not the company they were 10+ years ago.
The good thingsGood team manager, very flexible in terms of work-life balance.
The challengesUpper management have decided to offshore as much as they can to the Philippines, so onshore staff end up fixing offshore mistakes/screwups on a regular basis. Apparently it's cheaper to get them to do things 2-3 times than to pay an Australian employee to do it right the first time.

Learnt a lot in my time there and got out just at the right time.
The good thingsPrior to restructure there were development opportunities.
The challengesRestructure meant there is no more team leader roles with direct reports. People were down graded to support leads with no direct reports, had to be flexible to work across 7 days a week from 7am to 10pm. Terrible. Took the redundancy option.

Good for if you want to start a family they are flexible.
The good thingsAs a front line consultant, once I walked out those doors I did not have to think about work
The challengesNegative consultants who brought down the morale, office politics, trying to get a pay rise.

Disappointment that they closed Grenfell and Cowra branches, it was the wrong decision
The good thingsWorking and helping the customers, to get a good deal.
The challengesNone really just making sure that you give out the correct information, and changing peoples minds to come into a branch and not pay on the Internet.

NRMA, is an amazing comany, I enjoyed working for them.
The good thingsFew team leaders I felt did not know how to engage staff and, I am a very hands in team leader, I just feel more could have been done back then to help staff moral
The challengesI love a challenge, the biggest challenge was the 3 months in Sydney to learn how NRMA work, but was one off the best training facilities I have ever endured

Best company I've worked for by far!
The good thingsCulture is great, support around you is even better.

    Wouldn't go back
The good thingsIf you stay longer than a year on a permanent contract the benefits and discounts are really good
The challengesNo solid flow of where you're at with work or the team. High expectations of you when they give below average training. Everyone has their click/friends so hard to mingle. Everyone is so young so hard to mix. Very high turn around of staff.

    Very disheartening
The good thingsI was with the company for 13 + years and unfortunately due to cost saving and offshoring it's now a very different place to work and one of which I have no desire to be out anymore
The challengesThe challenges were trying to provide great customer service versus how much productivity you did in a day. Productivity was always the focus not the customer. A very different NRMA than it used to be
