Toxic Leadership – Not RecommendedThe good thingsLeaving Onsite Rental Group.
The challengesMy time there was marked by significant upheaval. New ownership, new GM, & constantly changing operations managers with poor direction which negatively affected morale, culture, and employee well-being. Under the previous GM, managers were held accountable and the workplace felt fair and collaborative. The current GM’s hands-off approach has allowed Operations, safety, and HR to function without meaningful oversight, creating a “do as I say, not as I do” leadership style. The behavior modelled by senior leadership falls short of professional standards, contributing to a clear decline in culture. Outdated, authoritarian management practices continue, with poor or non-existent communication & employees being penalized for unclear expectations & sheer lack of direction. This environment prioritizes control over work-life balance and mental wellness. Based on my experience, I will not recommend OSR as a place of employment, as the cost to personal well-being outweighs any benefits.
