Great at the start but heavy decline towards the end The good thingsI enjoyed the staff I worked with over the years, this created a great positive environment and the job itself, helping patients with glasses was enjoyable and learning the optical industry.
The first few years we’re the absolute best an it was a good company, I miss the old days where we came in and did a great job without all the extra pressure and stress in which this organisation has become.
The challengesI had been in the organisation for many years, things went downhill drastically after Covid, too much tracking of absolutely everything you can imagine!!! Too much pressure on everyone, monthly audits to having uncomfortable conversations with your staff as to why their KPI’s weren’t perfect every single time.
Gone are the days of true and genuine customer service, as if you offer the patient the options and they decide to go for something less expensive you sit there and in the back of your mind you are stressed because at the end of the day you are worried you haven’t reported that you’ve done enough “Varilux XR Pro” or digital this and that extra 2nd pair for the fear of a put down at the next manager meeting is promising.
Also to add to that, the pay for what we have to do is terrible and not reflecting of the workload.
When a colleague of over 40 years retired and they did nothing for them when leaving no bye, no thanks, no gift.
